Who you are
- 3+ years of experience leading and managing teams of engineers in a fast-paced, agile environment, preferably in fintech
- 5+ years of backend software engineering experience in SaaS, fintech or payments technologies companies
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Strong technical expertise in backend development, cloud infrastructures, and distributed systems
- Demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion and deliver results in a timely manner across multiple countries and markets
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- A solid understanding of software architecture, system design, and modern development methodologies, particularly in cloud-based environments
- Experience working with distributed teams, promoting a culture of inclusivity and belonging in a remote setup
- A passion for mentoring, coaching, and fostering the growth of your team members
- Ability to adapt to changing environments and drive continuous improvement in platform reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
What the job involves
- We are currently hiring an Engineering Manager based in Berlin or remote to lead a team of software engineers and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams on developing, optimizing, and scaling our fintech software
- In this role, you will drive technical excellence, mentor and develop your team, and ensure the successful delivery of strategic projects
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, providing guidance, coaching, and support to help them achieve their professional goals and foster innovation
- Proactively support the engineering team to deliver incremental value by hands-on contribution
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive and actionable feedback, and cultivate a culture of diversity, inclusion, and continuous learning
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define pragmatic solutions to meet the immediate needs of the business
- Strong and effective communication with ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Drive technical and operational excellence by managing features from concept to completion, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring
- Contribute to the strategic direction of engineering efforts and align technology with business goals
