Role
Who you are
- Fluent in English
- Master’s Degree in Finance/Management field
- Proven experience in Banking, Audit or Transaction Services (5 years minimum)
- Very strong skills in accounting and finance (including solid financial modelling skills)
- Business-oriented profile and attention to detail required
- Strong communication skills with the ability to synthesize data and complex information, and present succinctly to executives and stakeholders at all levels
- Highly organized, flexible and easily adaptive to changing conditions
- Previous experience in a deep-tech and/or fast-paced start-up is a plus

What the job involves
- We are seeking a corporate FP&A to lead and optimize the financial performance of Aqemia.
- In this key role, you will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, driving strategic insights and supporting decision-making across the company
- You will work directly with Théa, our Head of Finance, who brings deep expertise in financial modeling and corporate finance (ex-Morgan Stanley)
- As the first hire on Aqemia’s growing finance team, you will have significant opportunities to expand your skillset and shape the future of our financial operations. This is just the beginning of a long and exciting journey!
- Your contributions will be instrumental in delivering insightful management reports to our leadership team, empowering them to make informed and strategic decisions
- Fully responsible for developing financial projections to support strategic decision-making and deliver accurate performance indicators with the ultimate goal of enhancing Aqemia's business plan
- Monitor and identify operational costs for Aqemia’s drug discovery programs to help us opting for the best portfolio strategy
- Identify and analyze key business drivers and KPIs through competition monitoring to optimize company’s performance
- Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly reports to leadership team
- Prepare external financial communication to investors and Board
- Collaborate with other departments (drug discovery program leaders, managers of the wet lab outsourcing, HRs, tech) to gather financial data and insights: become a real business partner

Our take
The billion dollar drug discovery industry is set to see notable growth by 2032 with huge R&D investments being made. It’s generally accepted that this is one of the most important financed sectors in the world. Aqemia joined the discovery train in 2019 with its deep physics and AI enabled drug revelation pipeline.
The company boasts its intricate level of accuracy within its physics algorithms that are fed into AI discovery, leading to a level of speed and in turn scaling drug discovery at an impressive rate. Creating a name for itself Aqemia moves away from using experimental data and bases the AI powered outcomes on years of data and studies of its now impressive team of 50.
Aqemia’s discoveries have already made an impact in oncology and immuno-oncology trials. The company sets goals to be part of more life changing clinical trials with wholly or partly owned drug candidates and continues to scale its platform to continue wins in its research. It will be exciting to see how more research and collaborations like that with Servier (international pharmaceutical company) will continue to grow its success.
