Role
Who you are
- Experience in a merchant/client facing role delivering technical solutions/projects such as Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, technical consulting / agency, product management, project management
- Proven experience leading post-sales or solutions engineering teams in a SaaS or eCommerce technology environment
- Strong technical fluency in the Shopify ecosystem - APIs, webhooks, and integration architectures
- A track record of partnering cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to drive merchant outcomes
- Experience developing repeatable playbooks, processes, or frameworks that scale technical delivery and improve merchant satisfaction
- Excellent communication and coaching skills — able to translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights for both merchants and teammates
- Data-driven decision-making with an understanding of how technical solutions influence retention, NRR, and merchant value
- A growth mindset — energized by learning, improving systems, and helping others build capability over time
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a Solutions Engineering Manager to lead our Post-Sales Solutions Engineering team - the group helping merchants unlock even more value from Recharge.
- You’ll guide a talented team supporting merchants that drive over $6M in quarterly revenue, and elevate how we measure impact, scale processes, tell our success stories, and leverage tools for productivity. As Recharge continues to expand globally, you’ll play a key role in growing and developing a high-performing, internationally distributed team
- The Post-Sales Solutions Engineering team steps in when merchants need something beyond the standard playbook.
- They’re problem solvers, unlocking new use cases, preventing churn, and driving growth across key market segments. Their work not only strengthens retention and ARR - it reinforces Recharge’s reputation as a trusted partner that shows up for merchants and the broader Shopify ecosystem
- Maintain and grow a high-performing post sales technical solutions team — coach Post-Sales SEs to combine deep platform expertise with consultative problem-solving that strengthens merchant trust and retention
- Demonstrate measurable business impact — tie post-sales technical outcomes to merchant retention, expansion, and platform adoption metrics
- Drive internal and external collaboration — partner internally with Customer Success, Product, and Engineering to surface merchant needs, influence product direction, and create repeatable technical solutions. Partner externally with Shopify, merchants and agencies to drive shared awareness of objectives, outcomes, and roles
- Champion systems thinking and continuous improvement — identify recurring issues, implement durable fixes, and enhance knowledge repositories so the team leaves the ecosystem stronger after each engagement
- Elevate merchant onboarding outcomes — ensure every launch and technical implementation delivers measurable time-to-value improvements, clear documentation, and scalable best practices
- Own technical solution quality and consistency — ensure integrations, customizations, and handoffs meet internal standards and set a benchmark for merchant experience
- Enable scalability of post-sales delivery — optimize processes, tooling, and playbooks to improve efficiency and throughput without sacrificing quality

Our take
Ecommerce platform Recharge has been in operation since 2014, helping brands set up and manage a subscription business, removing the operational inefficiencies that brands would face when attempting to manage this themselves. Its cloud-based subscription management platform aims to offer merchants flexibility by leading with an API focus.
Recharge’s basic premise has proven a smart one, with the eCommerce subscription market growing substantially since the company was founded. It of course rose particularly steeply over the pandemic, with the closure of brick-and-mortar stores, but in general still follows a market trend towards direct-to-consumer relationships - promising a growing market for Recharge going forwards.
Success for the company has been clear, with its merchant roster boasting several thousand users including Harry’s, Oatly, and BrewDog. The sector has attracted substantial funding, with Recharge completing a remarkable funding round in 2021. This came atop its already stable, cash-flow-positive business, and supported its further progress as the subscription industry developed. The company is focused on maintaining its strong position, with new updates and improvements to its offering including Retain, a suite of tools designed to support retention throughout the subscriber lifecycle.
