Role
Who you are
- 3+ years of experience building and scaling production infrastructure
- Strong background in AWS (ECS, RDS, VPC, S3, IAM, WAF) and IaC (CDK, Cloudformation, Terraform, or similar)
- Experience in fast-paced, startup environments where you’ve had to wear multiple hats
- Comfortable with TypeScript and Node.js or similar back-end ecosystems
- Proven ability to lead projects end-to-end and mentor peers
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
What the job involves
- We’re looking for senior platform engineers to help us build the foundation that enables TruckSmarter’s vision of eliminating inefficiencies across the freight industry
- You’ll architect and maintain the systems that keep our platform fast, resilient, and cost-efficient, and be deeply involved in designing core services, improving developer velocity, and building infrastructure that supports both traditional and AI-based workloads
- Design and evolve the core platform architecture, including core application frameworks and abstractions, powering TruckSmarter’s systems
- Build and scale the infrastructure that powers our traditional ML and agentic-AI systems
- Build and maintain reliable infrastructure across AWS (ECS Fargate, RDS, S3, WAF, Redshift, DMS, and related services) using IaC (CDK, Terraform)
- Define and automate deployment pipelines, CI/CD, and observability frameworks
- Lead security initiatives to ensure compliance, harden systems, and improve access controls
- Mentor engineers on best practices in reliability, automation, and performance engineering
- Drive incident response and postmortem culture to increase resilience and operational excellence
- Impact at scale—shaping the core systems that will redefine a $900B industry
- Solving problems at the intersection of infra, AI, and product delivery
- Designing and scaling systems that support high throughput and high availability
- Building infrastructure and tooling that enables other engineers to move faster and ship safely, while eliminating toil

The massive rise in eCommerce means that truck drivers are at an all-time demand, but the trucking industry massively lags behind many others in technological advancements. TruckSmarter delivers a free platform that allows truckers, carriers, and dispatchers to search and book loads, streamlining the entire trucking process.
The trucking industry has been historically fragmented, with truckers wasting countless hours searching for their next gig, followed by more time waiting to be loaded or unloaded – which can be very detrimental to truckers who are often paid per mile. Trucksmarter digital trucking platform addresses all these problems. It stands out from the competition by being a free-to-use service. It makes its revenue by offering truckers same-day payments for each load, in exchange for a small percentage of their fee, rather than charging to use the load board itself.
TruckSmarter has raised an impressive amount of funding from top investors and names in the industry, showing respect for and interest in its solution. The investment will be used to add more finance and banking tools to the company’s driver ecosystem.
