Who you are
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or any
- Related IT or Engineering field of study plus at least two (2) years of experience in the job
- Offered or in any related positions
- Qualified applicants must also have demonstrable proficiency, skill, experience, and:
- 1. Experience product development lifecycle management, including overseeing coordination with functional areas such as Product Management, Engineering, UX/UI, Sales, Customer Support, Finance or Marketing
- 2. Driving the vision, go-to-market strategy, and design decisions for product development
- 3. Defining and launching robotics/automation products
- 4. Modern project management tools, such as: Jira, Trello, Airtable, Kanban, or Github
What the job involves
- This position may supervise one Product Manager
- Communicate the necessary operations to further product strategy and roadmap, and
- Meet with department heads, supervisors, and vendors to ensure alignment and resolve problems
- Review project plans in order to coordinate project activity and ensure projects are in
- Line with product strategy, as well as customer requirements and feedback
- Stay abreast of advances in technology and understand markets, competition, and User requirements, as well as conduct relevant research, when needed
- Develop and interpret company goals, policies, and procedures and ensure those are Reflected in a long-term product roadmap
- Prepare and review operational reports, project progress reports, and incorporate these reports into business planning as needed
- Analyze and evaluate the company’s technology and plan UX/HRI strategy on a Multiyear trajectory
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to balance requirements with resources and evaluate proposals to assess project feasibility and requirements
- Define and launch robotics/automation products
- Perform duties in modern project management tools
- Coordinate project management with marketing and PR to prepare for launch
- Analyze external and internal data to identify gaps and opportunities
- Drive the product vision, go-to-market strategy, and design discussions
- Actively contribute to a culture of innovation and excellence

The global use of material handling equipment is growing rapidly due to growth in eCommerce markets, and this requires a huge increase in recruitment. To reduce the costs of this, businesses are turning to solutions that offer automated material handling equipment, as opposed to hiring more staff.
Third Wave Automation produces 'shared autonomy' forklifts that are controlled in mass fleets by a remote operator. Whilst its core aim is to optimize workflows in warehouses and reduce employment costs, the company also believes that its AI-forklifts will reduce forklift-related workplace injuries in the US.
Third Wave Automation claims that competitors automate only a fraction of the functionality of a forklift, unable to complete tasks such as reaching high places. The company has integrated artificial intelligence and machine learning to their forklifts, aiming to eventually remove the human remote-controller all together, and has secured impressive funds that will enable it to accelerate innovation, expand its pilot program, and strive towards new solutions for automating other classes of forklifts.
