Role
Who you are
- The Lead of Design is a grounded product design leader with at least 8 years of experience owning, deploying and scaling product experiences, especially in B2B environments
- You are a champion of user-centred design and excel in translating your empathy for users into functional and impressive visuals across various interfaces while carrying your users, team and stakeholders along in the process
- Problem-Solving: Be tenacious in understanding root causes and devising solutions to problems
- Design Expertise: Understand the intricate details of leading a design function at a company in our stage as well as the technical tools and methodologies for achieving success
- Business Awareness: Understand the business context and know where to make the necessary tradeoffs
- Domain Ownership: Fully own the design domain and be the voice and advocate within the product function and the rest of the company
- Communication: Display commendable listening ability and be exemplary in engaging users, team members and stakeholders
- Holistic Thinking: Possess and show a keen ability to see the full picture in your decision-making and contributions to relevant conversations

What the job involves
- You will partner with our product & engineering leaders for building our multi-disciplinary organization and the product design team
- Align expectations early on, roll up your sleeves, identify quick wins and craft a medium to long-term strategy to execute
- Transition the company into its next design phase carefully articulating risks and dependencies with minimal disruption
- Derive and maintain excellent design standards and guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across our products and platforms. Be a foundational partner in levelling our design system and UX infrastructure
- Collaborate with the product team and lead UX research efforts, design reviews and design retrospectives for product initiatives
- Build your knowledge of our industry and domain and be a key partner in roadmap-related discussions
- Scale the design discipline and oversee all aspects of product design, including interaction design, UX Research, UX writing and prototyping
- Coach, sponsor, and mentor your team of product designers, providing support, guidance and interventional assistance to ensure they meet their goals and objectives. Be a strong ally in accelerating their careers and craft
- Empower complete transparency among internal and external stakeholders, with proactive and effective communication about progress, bottlenecks, and risks
- Contribute to improving our operational processes and company culture
- Be an expert in your field - ensuring teams stay up-to-date with the latest design trends and technologies and incorporate them into our work

It has raised considerable funding that is cited to support its growth strategy, which includes building out its property portfolio from around 1 million to 2.5 million properties in the near future.
