What the job involves
- We're growing our Tech team and looking for a Software / Backend Engineer Apprentice to help us build and maintain the data pipelines that feed our remote monitoring platform, working hand-in-hand with our Tech Lead on real production features from day one
- Direct Report: Tech Lead
- Collaboration: You'll work closely with the Ingestion team, taking on tasks alongside other squad members and being guided day-to-day by your Tech Lead
- As a Software / Backend Engineer Apprentice, your core mission will be to help build and operate the data collection and processing pipelines that power our remote monitoring platform
- Data collection: Create data collection tasks from various external providers, through web scraping and API communication
- Data pipelines: Build pipelines that ingest, transform, and store collected data properly in our databases
- Agile delivery: Work on a 2-week sprint basis, taking part in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
- Team collaboration: Take on tasks alongside other squad members, guided and supported by your Tech Lead
- At Implicity, you will have a weekly meeting with your manager, to help you succeed in your mission, and continuously improve your skills
- Each team works with quarterly OKR, to be crystal clear, fair and honest with your targets
- The annual appraisal is a shared exchange moment, focused on your development
- Methodology: Agile (Scrum) with 2-week sprints, followed by production releases
- Cloud Infrastructure: AWS
- Architecture: Microservices, Event-Driven patterns (e.g., RabbitMQ, etc)
- Primary Languages/Frameworks: TypeScript (Node.js, NestJS for Backend)
- Front-end : Angular
- Containers & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes
- CI/CD: GitLab CI
- Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog
- Databases: MongoDB, MariaDB, PostgreSQL
- Big Data tools: Glue, DBT, Iceberg, Looker Studio
- Data collection: Build data collection tasks from external providers using web scraping and API communication
- Data pipelines: Create pipelines that ingest, transform, and properly store collected data in our databases
- Agile collaboration: Participate fully in the squad's 2-week sprint cycle (planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives), taking on tasks alongside teammates under the Tech Lead's guidance

Our take
The MedTech boom has seen many innovations through the 2010s, and Implicity, a remote patient monitoring and cardiac data management company, has definitely had a clear lineage of growth since its founding in 2016.
Implicity develops software to monitor and analyze the information from pacemakers and cardiovascular devices to aid physicians and healthcare professionals through all stages of a patient’s treatment. However, maintaining growth on one product alone is hard, especially with so much MedTech competition. Implicity remedies this with its other product, a data analysis platform that uses AI and cloud technology to analyze the devices linked up to its aforementioned pacemaker and cardio health platform. Implicity leverages this data for use in patient management, clinical studies, and R&D.
Playing both fields of MedTech has diversified the draw for hospitals and companies to Implicity. It continues to update and diversify the double offering via updates to its systems with the company hoping to exemplify the continued innovation that is key to MedTech company growth.
