Who you are
- Paralegal education from an ABA-accredited program with a paralegal certificate or degree. Paralegal certification is necessary
- Paralegal experience, preferably within a SaaS environment involving international technology contracts
- Ability to learn quickly and identify process improvement opportunities
- Exceptional organization and multi-tasking skills to juggle multiple projects, communication streams and ongoing processes simultaneously
- Analytical skills for processing information effectively and helping the Legal team with various tasks
- Effective communication skills to clearly and confidently articulate internal process requirements with internal stakeholders and to respond effectively to outside counsel and vendors
- Impeccable discretion in keeping all sensitive contract and corporate document information confidential
- Ability to prioritize effectively and follow-up with others accordingly so that the most important tasks or projects are not dropped or delayed unnecessarily
- High emotional intelligence (EQ), understanding other peoples’ emotions and intentions in the day-to-day operations of the company

What the job involves
- The Sales Tax & Legal Compliance Paralegal provides critical project management and administrative support to the Finance and Legal teams at Accredible with a focus on organizing and maintaining our sales tax and contract lifecycle management systems
- Coordinating project management for our sales tax compliance platform, Avalara Avatax, including implementation and ongoing maintenance, managing integration with the company’s billing system, tracking customer sales tax exemption certificates, and filing timely and accurate sales tax returns.
- Initiating and maintaining sales tax registrations and filing ongoing sales tax reports and timely and accurately responding to notices from regulatory authorities to ensure corporate compliance.
- Organizing and maintaining Lexion contract management system to maximize efficient contract lifecycle and generate meaningful reports for various contract requirements, such as customer and vendor renewal deadlines, notification requirements, vendor renewal, workload and internal SLAs and other relevant data
- Ensuring relevant documents are transferred to Lexion and properly filed in a timely manner
- Supporting Legal team and internal compliance committee with regular compliance committee meetings and assisting with completion of committee action items, which may include ongoing filing and auditing tasks associated with adhering to the company’s various statutory and regulatory compliance requirements in different jurisdictions
- Assisting Legal with template document management regular updates to standard Terms of Service and coordinating with Marketing for internal and external publication of updated materials to ensure compliance with Marketing on Accredible website updates of legal and compliance documents
- Supporting Sales teams with standard contract processing
- Assisting Finance and Legal teams with vendor registration requirements for commercial and government customers
- Coordinating with the company's registered corporate agent to ensure timely filing of annual and quarterly reports
- Communicating with insurance brokers regarding requests for Certificates of Insurance and assisting Operations with annual business insurance renewals
- Coordinating communication with various outside counsel as needed
- Other project management or administrative support as assigned
- Outcomes (6 months);
- You have become an expert in the functionality of our Contract Lifecycle Management software, Lexion, and are regularly maintaining and updating the system to ensure accuracy of tagging data and completeness of executed contracts in the repository.
- You have learned the basic functionality of Avatax and working closely with the Finance team. have successfully launched the sales tax exemption certificate management, sales tax billing and reporting process for Accredible
- You have a process of responding in a timely manner to any inquiries or correspondence from taxing jurisdictions or other governmental agencies
- You are supporting the legal, finance and sales teams in fulfilling vendor registration and reporting requirements from customers in a timely manner
- You have developed a system of managing our tech stack vendor contract renewals in coordination with the Senior IT Manager and relevant internal stakeholders
- You are regularly producing reports of legal workload, turnaround times and comparison to internal SLAs
- You are maintaining the latest versions of Accredible’s contract, SOW, NDAs,Standard Terms of Service, Data Protection Addendum, and Privacy Policy and the most recent versions are published on Accredible’s website
