Who you are
- Have prior experience working on no-code automation workflows driven by integration/API data. Bonus: data analyst experience, including SQL
- Have 4+ years of product management experience, with a proven track record for delivering high-quality products to customers
- Possess a customer-focused mindset, proactively reaching out to customers and prospects, while simultaneously partnering with go-to-market teams
- Ability to see how various products and features should fit together to serve different user groups, with the analytical skills to justify the approach being taken
- Be deeply curious, empathetic, and user-centric, with a knack for driving effective collaboration amongst your stakeholders
- Have the ability to bring a product roadmap to life through consistent execution and project management
- Excellent communication both written and verbal, to effectively communicate ideas and requirements to team members, stakeholders, and executives
What the job involves
- As a product manager at Vanta, you will be responsible for the overall efficacy and impact of the product features in your area of responsibility
- Specifically, that means that you will own the customer voice for your product area, and therefore will be the decision maker for prioritization for your cross-functional team of designers and engineers
- You’ll also be responsible for collaborating more broadly with cross-departmental partners like Sales, Marketing and Customer Service to deeply serve customers throughout their Vanta journey
- The Test Automation Platform team at Vanta (also known as “TAP”) builds the capability for customers to deeply integrate Vanta with the various tools and services that comprise a customer’s technology stack from HR to the cloud
- This allows Vanta to collect and store that data, evaluate it against a customer’s security program, and surface any issues that need fixing so that the customer can get and stay compliant and secure
- Deeply understand our customers and our market
- Develop the strategy and roadmap for Vanta’s overall test experience, which comprises the customer’s entire journey from creating and managing their tests to the remediation process of debugging and fixing tests
- Distill complex problems and opportunities into clearly prioritized product goals, focus for your team, and high-quality execution in collaboration with stakeholders across the company
- Deliver a high quality product addressing key customer pain points and creating opportunities for competitive advantage
- Help to define and shape Vanta's product team culture as we grow
Our take
The security auditing process is usually very time-consuming, taking hours to complete, and it is often difficult for start-ups to invest time into such a process. Yet, the benefits of security accreditation are enormous, mainly as many such businesses are working globally and need ways to demonstrate security compliance to one another. Vanta works specifically with start-ups to help them complete and pass security audits such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
The company is a compliance portal and security monitoring platform that businesses use to assess their risk levels. Vanta carries out a pre-audit of a company's digital security and highlights areas that need to be worked on before a full analysis of all threats is carried out. Other businesses such as Datadog or PagerDuty offer similar security monitoring services, but Vanta monitors its customers throughout the year, allowing any issues to be identified and addressed early on.
Vanta has found a valuable cybersecurity niche within the giant SaaS market. Companies such as Lattice, Clubhouse, and Calm are all customers, demonstrating a growing trend for companies to manage their cybersecurity proactively, which Vanta should be able to take advantage of to further grow and develop into the future.
