Role
Who you are
- We are looking for a T-shaped marketer who specializes in one of the following organic marketing channels: video content, SEM, or growth-hacking strategies, that brings a strong sense of ownership, eye for creativity, and hunger for executing lean and efficient strategies
- 4+ years growth marketing or growth hacking experience
- Experience at an early stage and/or experience scaling a growth marketing team is preferred
- T-shaped marketer with deep expertise in Performance Marketing (Paid Search, Paid Social, Display, Retargeting), Influencer marketing, and/or Affiliate marketing
- Knowledgeable in maximizing investments in SEO and SEM,
- Experience managing user activation and lifecycle marketing
- Data analytics familiarity: Amplitude, A/B tests, Databricks, Excel, Google Analytics or similar web analytics
- SQL familiarity is a bonus, but not required
- CRM familiarity: Hubspot, or email marketing tools (Mailchimp, Iterable, Sendgrid, etc.)
- High ownership mindset: You care about business outcomes. You want to own a number and make it grow
- Hackiness and eye for creativity. You’re constantly thinking of new ideas and you’ll do whatever it takes to get your projects over the finish line
- Comfortable hiring and training video content producers for organic marketing
- Data brained: You want data to inform your choices, and will seek that data to uncover insights, e.g. in SQL and Excel or data analytics platforms. You think infrastructurally
- Velocity and direction. You’ll constantly try new growth ideas in this role. When things don’t work, you pivot; when they do, you move fast to scale them
- Excellent communication skills. You communicate your ideas clearly and concisely, adapting your style to your audience and objectives when working with executives, marketing teammates, product engineers, or designers
What the job involves
- You will report directly to our CEO, and partner with our product marketing, engineering, and design teams for campaigns, strategies, and growth initiatives
- GPTZero’s AI detection platform has had explosive organic growth to more than 4 million users in the past 2 years through product-led growth, word-of-mouth, SEO and key partnerships
- As our first and founding growth marketer, you will be responsible for leveraging this momentum to develop the strategy AND lead the execution of optimizing paid growth levers
- This includes paid search, display ads, affiliate and influencer campaigns, to innovative “growth hacking” strategies you will have ideally learned from experience at other early stage or scaling startups
Our take
Since generative AI exploded onto the scene, it has been put to good use across a range of industries. Unfortunately, it has also been used to ramp up the production of subpar content which is misleading or completely incorrect. Not to mention it has helped proliferate academic fraud.
GPTZero is on a mission to help combat this AI epidemic, with a platform capable of identifying content written by AI tools such as ChatGPT. Its solutions can help teachers, students, writers, recruiters and more to build back the trust that has been broken by easy-to-access gen-AI.
The company's mission is certainly compelling, and investors agree, with GPTZero receiving impressive funding already. It will use the funds to support its roadmap which includes the development and launch of many new features such as an editor platform that records and cites AI usage.
