Who you are
- Relevant background: A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a strong motivation to start your career in finance
- Entry-level: experience in an administrative or financial role (a relevant internship absolutely counts!)
- Detail-oriented mindset: A highly accurate and task-driven work ethic. You take pride in doing things correctly and have a keen eye for detail
- Tech-savviness: You are comfortable working with digital tools and pick up new software easily. Bonus points (but not required) if you have seen tools like NetSuite, Payhawk, Cobase, or Spendesk before — otherwise, we will gladly teach you!
- Team player attitude: A proactive, eager-to-learn mindset with good communication skills to collaborate effectively with the rest of the finance team
What the job involves
- As a Junior Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be the backbone of our financial execution across our entities.
- With a knack for detailed execution and a high sense of urgency, you thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- This is a critical, hands-on role where your efficiency and precision directly contribute to the company's operational smooth running and compliance
- Process incoming invoices: Ensure accurate data entry, matching, and assist with proper general ledger coding under the guidance of the finance team
- Handle expense reports: Review and process employee expense reports using Payhawk, checking for accuracy and compliance with company policies
- Support reconciliations: Assist the team in reconciling vendor statements and basic Accounts Payable general ledger accounts to ensure data accuracy
- Assist with month-end close: Support the broader finance team during month-end activities by gathering necessary AP documentation and preparing basic schedules
- Learn and grow: Actively learn the AP processes and share your ideas for daily workflow improvements with the senior team members
- During the first 3 months: You’ll immerse yourself in our core financial systems and processes, focusing on Payhawk, Netsuite and Cobase. You will take ownership and help the senior AP specialist with the daily invoice processing and payment runs. Your primary focus will be inputting data accurately, and ensuring all transactions are correctly coded and documented
- Within 6 months: You will be the go-to expert for Accounts Payable, answer questions from vendors and colleagues, handling end-to-end invoice processing, expense reports, payment scheduling with high efficiency
- After 1 year: By the end of your first year, you will have established yourself as the key operational driver for AP. You will be recognised for your leadership in improving the speed and accuracy of these processes, contributing ideas for further automation within our systems, and providing reliable execution that allows the wider Finance team to focus on strategic tasks
- Please note: This is a part-time position (24 hours per week). The listed salary range represents the full-time equivalent (FTE) and will be pro-rated accordingly
