Who you are
- Experience: 6+ years in Consumer Product, Enterprise, SaaS, Service Design or a relevant field with a proven track record of shipping end-to-end workflows and experiences from strategy to execution
- Product & Systems Thinking: Skilled at simplifying complex systems to achieve human-centric solutions that balance simplicity and functionality
- Design Craftsmanship: Strong attention to detail in information architecture, visual hierarchy, typography, and layout
- Communication: Strong visual, verbal, and written communication. You actively seek and incorporate feedback from team members and stakeholders

What the job involves
- Pilot is hiring a Senior Product Designer for our SMB Product & Design teams
- Pilot’s SMB Product & Design teams are focused on equipping small and medium-sized businesses with tools to gain close control and visibility into their finances
- We’re looking for a collaborative designer who can successfully balance creative thinking at 35,000ft and executing at 35ft to deliver intuitive and impactful product experiences
- Partner strategically with Product, Engineering, and Operations to drive product decisions and roadmap priorities
- Lead the end-to-end product design process to ensure seamless interactions at every touchpoint within your product and service areas
- Develop end-to-end user workflows, low to high-fidelity wireframes, and prototypes
- Design within an established design system and contribute to the evolution of new design standards across Pilot
- Deliver thoughtful solutions and detailed specs that are ready for implementation
- Collaborate with internal/external users to conduct interviews and gather data to inform design decisions as needed
- Mentor other designers on strategy and craft, and maintain our team's high standard of design

Founded in 2016. Pilot has attracted an impressive range of customers including Bolt, r2c and Pathrise. The company's proposition is more than just bookkeeping software, providing services that would ordinarily be provided by a fractional chief financial officer. This empowers small businesses and startups to make better budgeting and spending decisions without the need of an expensive finance department hire.

It has also established a number of strategic partnerships with companies such as American Express, bill.com, Stripe and SVB, allowing it to offer a great deal of flexibility in supporting its customers whatever payment methods they use.
Going forward Pilot aims to be to startups and medium-sized firms what AWS is to cloud computing - a comprehensive, easily scalable solution that prevents the need to reinvent a necessary but non-core function from scratch. With rapid revenue growth and significant financial backing from investors, it is well poised to achieve this.
