Who you are
- A good grasp of the key concepts of Site Reliability Engineering
- Knowledge of cloud platforms using Kubernetes and related technologies
- Knowledge of, and experience of working with following technologies:
- Dynatrace, Splunk, GitHub
- IBM Websphere Application Server, WAS Liberty and related technologies
- IBM Datapower and APIC
- Red Hat Linux / AIX
- You’ll be able to work independently, use initiative, without management oversight
- Work with partner teams and third parties in the UK, and worldwide

What the job involves
- As a member of our SRE team, your main responsibilities will be to work alongside our 24x7 shift teams, using tooling such as Dynatrace, Splunk and ThousandEyes to ensure we maintain great observability across our services, and to contribute to quick service recovery for our customers
- You’ll help define and implement Service Level Objectives and assist in automating Operational Readiness into CI/CD pipelines so that our engineering teams can be confident in delivering fault-tolerant, reliable and robust features to our customers
- You’ll also play a key role in contributing to blameless post mortems, ensuring we understand underlying root causes and drive through software solutions and automation to prevent recurrence and remove manual work
- You’ll provide technical direction and mentorship to our support engineering teams, helping them to manage business critical applications that underpin billions of pounds worth of payments every day
- You’ll have a strong sense of ownership and integrity and enjoy working with both Business and Engineering teams.
