What the job involves

Expedia Group is seeking a talented and experienced Product Manager with a passion for consumer facing products, eager to create the best of consumer experiences on Expedia Group’s Packages path
The Packages shopping path allows travelers to shop for everything they need for their trip through a guided shopping path, book everything in one go, and access exclusive discounts and perks
The Packages product is a core differentiator of Expedia. The app experience will be central to how travelers use and interact with the Packages shopping path
Create the product vision and strategy for Packages shopping on the app
Create and maintain a clear product roadmap, aligning it with business goals and customer needs
Represent the voice of the customer and partner with research and design to understand the problems and needs of our customers, in order to define and launch innovative solutions and build product differentiators
Partner closely with business leaders, marketing, analytics, design and engineering teams to deliver solutions to satisfy customer experience and business goals
Use data to prioritise initiatives, make launch decisions, and develop success metrics
Balance long term business growth with near-term wins
Exhibit storytelling and persuasive influencing techniques that build trust with team and partners and establish long-term relationships. Use frameworks to align partners and leadership on product direction/key decisions. Effectively influence for best outcomes
Build feedback and data loops to enable continuous system improvement at scale, leverage Expedia’s growing suite of ML solutions to personalize the shopping experience

They enable users to access a wide range of services including airline tickets, hotel reservations, car rentals, cruises, vacation packages, and various attractions and services via the world wide web and telephone travel agents. Its primary web businesses include Expedia.com, Hotels.com, Hotwire.com, and Egencia.com.

Between 2021 and 2022, Expedia has been selling and merging a list of its sub-brands in a bid to simplify its operations, including Egencia and Classic Vacations. Due to plummeting share prices, mostly in the case of its sub-brands, Expedia has been leveraging its subsidiaries' customer base and merging them into the company’s core brand. Contrasting this move, Expedia has also been partnering with tech start-ups in a bid to make travel more accessible to underserved groups. Becoming Rentable, a travel company for the disabled is one of 12 startups that are part of Expedia Group’s new Open World Accelerator Programme.

What this indicates is Expedia’s shift from buying other travel companies and a move towards enhancing the experience of its preexisting customer base. This move is aiding in a long-term plan for greater long-term traveler loyalty, utilizing Expedia’s vast amounts of data, not just from reviews, but from check-in, cleanliness, communication, cancelations, etc to inform how guests experience a property.
