Role
Who you are
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 5-6 years of experience as a Full-Stack Engineer or similar role
- Strong proficiency in frontend technologies including ReactJS, NextJS, and Formik
- Solid understanding of NodeJS for backend development
- Experience with AWS services, including Lambda, API Gateway, Cloudfront, S3, DynamoDB, and RDS Aurora MySQL
- Experience in Google Cloud and cloud infrastructure migration projects is a plus
- Proficiency in using Axios Fetch API to create HTTP requests
- Familiarity with Bootstrap and/or Material UI for responsive UI design and stylesheets
- Familiarity with Serverless for efficient DevOps and deployment
- Proficiency in code versioning and collaboration tools such as GitHub
- Experience working with the Kanban Agile development process, prioritising tasks efficiently to meet project deadlines and adapting to evolving requirements
- Experience with Jira and Confluence for issue tracking and documentation
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, nimble, and change-reactive culture
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive work ethic
What the job involves
- The role is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract (FTC), with a possibility to extend
- As an experienced Full-Stack Engineer at Upskill Digital, you will play a pivotal role in the development and enhancement of our SCORM compliant Learning Experience Platform (LXP)
- Working closely with the development team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining both frontend and backend components of our LXP, and other greenfield product development projects
- This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, including the use of generative AI, and contribute to the growth of our platform, providing an exceptional learning experience to our users, both internally and externally
- The primary objective of this role is to drive the successful execution of the firm's key product build priorities for the fiscal year 2024 (FY24)
- You will play a key role in contributing to the development and enhancement of our core products
- Your responsibilities will encompass a range of projects aimed at advancing our technological capabilities and delivering exceptional value to our clients and stakeholders
- These projects include: LXP Subscriptions module; LXP Integrated Live Events; LXP CPD Certification; Upskill AI Content Tool; LXP Mentoring
- Collaborate with the Product Manager, Tech Lead and other stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Develop and maintain frontend components of the LXP using ReactJS, NextJS, and Formik
- Work with Sprout Video Player API and Algolia Search API to optimise platform usability
- Build and maintain backend services using NodeJS, integrating with AWS Lambda and AWS API Gateway
- Utilise Google API for OAuth authentication and MySQL2 Client API for efficient access to the relational database
- Write unit tests using Mocha and lambda-tester to ensure the reliability of the codebase
- Utilise Serverless for DevOps to deploy Lambda functions and manage the development lifecycle
- Collaborate with our Tech Lead to manage AWS Lightsail, AWS Cloudfront, AWS S3, AWS CloudWatch, DynamoDB, and AWS RDS Aurora MySQL for seamless and scalable platform performance
- Explore and work with generative AI technologies to enhance user experiences and foster innovative solutions
