Role
Who you are
- You have strong knowledge of ReactJS and TypeScript
- You have a deep understanding of Web fundamentals (e.g. HTML, CSS, Web APIs)
- You feel comfortable working in a highly collaborative environment
- You are able to write SOLID code pragmatically using software design patterns
- You know what to test, why to test it, and how to write meaningful tests
- You have a proactive attitude and a product mindset − you own what you build

What the job involves
- You will primarily work on our frontend stack based on ReactJS and Typescript
- You will report to the Engineering Manager
- Your main stakeholders are Product, QA, Product Design, Data, and other Business stakeholders
- Ensuring we all write great code and learn together; we do peer code reviews, lots of pair coding, hackathons, and internal tech talks
- Collaborating closely with our Designers and coding, deploying, and monitoring features that our clients love
- Embracing a customer-first culture – even as a Developer, we hope you care deeply about our customers
- Working on a highly versatile system that supports complex photographer workflows
Our take
Taking professional photos for events and schools is as much an exercise in administration as it is in photography, with a gruelling and largely manual workload of organising photos, taking payments and shipping out prints eating into a photographer's time. GotPhoto exists to make this process much easier, automating promotions, sales and fulfillment, freeing the photographer to focus on their core business.
Considered the leader in its market, GotPhoto has amassed a customer base of about 4000 small-medium business and sole trader clients across the UK, US and DACH regions. While the company has had strong growth in recent years it still has a large market to grow into, with around 70% of volume photographers still relying on manual systems, and a core market growing by 25% year on year as these photographers start to look to the benefits of automation for their businesses.
GotPhoto was acquired by EQT Growth in 2023, providing investment into the platform's development and adding new features. It will also be able to tap its parent company's commercial connections as it aims to grow its lead in an estimated $5 billion market.
