Who you are
- First experience (2 years) in sales role
- Fluent in French and English Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, marketing, or a related field
- Start-up mindset Proven track record of successfully establishing and managing sales in a fast-paced environment
- Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a startup environment
- Analytical mindset, capable of identifying trends, and making data-driven decisions
- Knowledge of logistics and or retail in France would be an advantage
- Ability to adapt quickly to changes, think strategically, and problem-solve in a dynamic and ambiguous environment
- Self-starter with a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, demonstrating a willingness to take ownership and drive results
- TempExperience in using CRM systems, Google Suite, Slack and other relevant software applications
What the job involves
- The Business Development Representative will be responsible for the bottom of the funnel sales activities, establishing contact with mature leads (establishments that want to join the Vinted Go Network) and closing contracts with the aforementioned
- As part of the Network Expansion Team, you will work closely with all other sales and deployment functions to accelerate and optimise our development
- Sales Development : Manage all bottom of the funnel sales activities for highly qualified leads (locations). Sign partnership contracts with businesses, retailers, property owners, and other organisations to expand the Vinted Go Locker network
- Network Expansion: Work closely with the lead development team to maximise the conversion rate from initial conversations with potential Vinted Go locations to the signing of the contract. factors such as foot traffic, customer demographics, and security
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal teams, including deployment, operations, logistics, marketing, and legal, to ensure seamless integration and successful partnership execution
- Performance Analysis: Contribute to key performance metrics and provide daily reports and analysis of your work
- Market Research: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences
Our take
For many years, the online fashion resale market was dominated by eBay. Vinted, first set up as a local website, has challenged the incumbent market leader by shifting focus towards sustainability.
Vinted has managed to compete successfully with other eCommerce platforms by providing more creative and personalized ways to shop, and focusing solely on fashion. With 75 million users it outstrips other fashion-focused competitors in this space, such as Depop which has roughly half the user base, but it sees its real competition in retailers that sell new clothing.
Vinted has raised significant funding which it has invested into rapid expansion, growing its presence in European markets and scaling up its US operations. While in the short term this has caused its profitability to drop, this expanded market reach is likely to yield dividends in the very near future.
