Role
Who you are
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Controlling or similar areas, ideally in consulting, automotive, technology industry or in the start-up / scale-up environment
- Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or a related field. Master's degree is a plus
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to collect, organise and analyse significant amounts of information and present to senior management in an adequate way
- Ability to prioritise and work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects running simultaneously
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically while paying attention to details
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualisation tools, such as Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets and Google Slides
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present insights to stakeholders
- Strong ownership, stakeholder management plus prioritisation across multiple tasks and workstreams
What the job involves
- You will play a critical role in supporting and optimising our planning processes as well as our monthly reporting to senior management
- You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, across business and engineering, to analyse financial data and establish relevant management reports
- This role will report to the Finance Director
- Financial Planning:
- Lead all planning processes from forecasting to budgeting including stakeholder management on various levels (cost centre owner, finance director, management)
- Build and further develop planning processes, planning templates and reports for the planning cycles
- Management Reporting:
- Lead the monthly internal management reporting (P&L, CAPEX, Inventory, Cash)
- Improve the existing reporting structure
- Analyse and explain deviations between Actuals and Plan
- Be responsible for the external quarterly reporting to our investors
- Support in ad hoc requests and analysis towards senior management
- Be a trusted business partner to senior management and department heads
Our take
Driverless cars are often considered as the future of transport, but the AI-driven innovation is not yet powerful and safe enough to be made publically available. Furthermore, it is anticipated that many people would not trust AI-driven driverless cars regardless of their state of development, preferring to know that a human is behind the wheel.
Vay develops autonomous driving hardware powered by "teledriving", a system in which cars are driven remotely by humans. The German company will begin by providing orderable cars that can be driven manually by the customer but parked remotely by Vay staff, with future use cases including full remote rides, ride-sharing, last-mile delivery, and public transport.
Whilst other companies such as Mobileye have made plans to provide driverless cars to German cities, Vay is standing out with its unique focus on the trust of teledriving. Furthermore, the initial focus on autonomous parking will greatly speed up rollout and give the company a competitive edge.
