Role
Who you are
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- 2-4+ years of product management or product analyst experience
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to structure unstructured information effectively
- Proficiency in quantitative analysis, particularly with SQL Server and Snowflake
- Experience in building reporting visualizations, especially with PowerBI
- Ability to work closely with technical teams, including application engineers and data engineers
- Familiarity with working in a fast-paced agile product development environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences
- Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to proactively drive work and find creative solutions to challenges
- Detail orientation with the ability to stay on top of many moving pieces, large amounts of data, and complex calculations
- Ability to work US East Coast hours because of close collaboration with our engineering team primarily based in Europe

What the job involves
- As a Product Analyst at Sustain.Life, you will play a vital role in shaping our carbon accounting SaaS platform and driving its success.
- You will collaborate closely with our Sustainability, Design, and Engineering teams to develop and maintain the emissions calculators that power our data platform.
- Additionally, you will utilize your analytical skills to create insightful reporting and track user engagement, which will guide future feature development.

- Collaborate with the Sustainability, Design, and Engineering teams to conceptualize, build, and maintain emissions calculators that power our data platform
- Support development and maintenance of automated data integrations with third party utility and spend providers
- Write SQL queries against SQL Server and Snowflake tables to monitor calculation accuracy and identify and resolve any issues
- Work closely with PowerBI team to design and implement customer-facing analytics dashboards representing key ESG metrics
- Create comprehensive reporting to track user activity and engagement across various sections of the platform
- Utilize quantitative analysis to pull valuable product-related analytics and insights to inform future feature development
- Assist in managing the product development process, including running engineering standups, grooming bugs and new features, QA testing, and coordinating deployments
- Collaborate with the Customer Success team to triage customer inquiries and address operational issues
Our take
Companies are finally realising that they must take responsibility for their own emissions. However, taking real responsibility is easier said than done.
Sustain.Life is making the path towards climate responsibility easier for organisations across the globe. Companies can take the most important first step - Carbon Accounting - with the software company. Unusually though, Sustain.Life also provides a suite of simple products inviting climate action amongst companies and employees.
The startup’s strategy to date has been targeting small and midsize businesses just starting to think about ESG, with a lower base price and simpler offerings than some rivals. Sustain.Life will hope that it can release more and more sophisticated offerings at cost in the medium-term and will benefit from its $16 million funding awarded in 2022.
Having said that, competition in ESG software is intense. It’s not uncommon for professional services firms to acquire software companies that best suit their needs. However Sustain.Life may have struck the right balance of a more holistic sustainability platform with the scalability of a SaaS model.
