Who you are
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 5 years of experience in program or project management
- 3 years of experience in a leadership role
- Experience with Data Analytics, SQL, Presentation, Stakeholder Management, and Business Analysis
Desirable
- 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects
- Experience extracting and analyzing large diverse datasets using SQL, R/Python, or similar tools
- Experience developing and validating hypotheses, applying inferential/causal techniques, building rudimentary statistical models as appropriate, to drive business recommendations
- Ability to present to executives and communicate with management teams

What the job involves
- Product and Business Strategy Leaders bring together teams across Google’s functions to help products execute optimally
- As a Research and Insights lead, you will develop meaningful strategies for the Platforms and Ecosystems (P&E) product area, to enable long-term investments and short-term market response situations
- In this role, you will contribute to originating and sharing critical research and insights into users, countries/markets, competitive landscape, and key technologies with a view to informing strategies/plans
- You will also support various executive business reviews across Android and Google Play, outlining the questions to be answered, setting the metrics to track outcomes, and participating in the forums for discussion
- Engage with various business stakeholders, understand business goals and market environment to develop hypotheses, execute research and/or analyses, and inform product and business strategies in partnership with cross-functional teams
- Originate forward looking insights for assigned product areas by collating externally and internally available research, combined with analyses of relevant user/device behavioral data to synthesize into forecasts and opportunities for the product teams to invest in
- Outline business performance metrics, monitor business performance, and competitive landscape to support creation of insights to key leaders on a periodic basis
- Develop presentations for leadership on business challenges and opportunities
- Act as a subject matter expert on assigned products, features, and associated strategies
- Influence a cross-functional team to take action on developed strategies, highlighted opportunities, and priorities determined from research activities

Following years of rapid hiring, and faced with a broader slowdown of ad spending, the company is being faced by weaker-than-expected revenue. CEO Sundar Pichai has recently announced that Google is reducing its head count by about 12,000 to adapt to global economic conditions. It will move to refocus its talent and capital to the company's highest priorities.
