Who you are

Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Strong track record in designing and building scalable enterprise software
Experience of successfully managing teams within a development organization
Experience with developing React Native apps for iOS and Android
Experience with developing cloud based solutions, using languages such Typescript, Nodde.js ideally on AWS infrastructure would be beneficial
Ability to balance multiple priorities and communicate across organizational boundaries
Ability to build strong relationships with diverse teams within an organization

What the job involves

Reporting to the Director of Software Development, you will be responsible for recruiting and developing your team of software engineers, working alongside the development teams provided by myenergi’s strategic development partners. Recruiting at apprentice and graduate levels as well as more senior/experienced software engineers as needed to develop a strong, highly skilled and energised software development team
Providing technical leadership as part of the Software Engineering leadership team
Mentoring software engineers; assisting with the creation of individual development plans, identifying and coordinating proper training and certifications needed for your team to complete their duties to the highest quality
Setting both group and individual goals annually; carrying out formal annual Personal Development Reviews; reviewing performance and development on a regular basis
Monitoring the quality of the code being developed and adherence to agreed coding standards
Working with Product Managers in our outsource development partners to ensure a consistent approach across our extended software development team
Working closely with the Engineering, Innovation and Products teams to ensure effective communication and delivery in cross-functional teams
