Who you are

The ideal candidate has a strong knowledge of and experience in IaaS and SaaS sales models, and a proven track record of closing enterprise and strategic sales opportunities as well as partner ecosystem opportunities
Solid work ethic, personal accountability, resourcefulness to change, strong organization skills and critical thinking are all assets’ candidates will need to demonstrate to be successful in this role
Strong professional sales expertise to include the sales process and sales techniques
Good knowledge of complex configurations which apply to offerings based on customer’s needs
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate technical info and ideas so others will understand
BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
8+ years of Enterprise Sales experience and a track record of personally selling and closing complex technical solutions to enterprises and software companies in excess of $100K per year in sales price and deal size
Comfortable with selling complex enterprise platform solution, understanding of API value proposition
Demonstrated success in selling innovative technologies to medium and large organization
Ability to ‘hunt’ new customers and develop current ones

What the job involves

We are looking for a high performing, creative, flexible, high-energy individual to take opportunities from lead to closed won, while navigating complex sourcing models, legal negotiations, and highly technical product conversations
The Strategic Account Executive specializes in advising clients and partners, aligning to business goals and leading resources in the development and delivery of solutions that meet and exceed client expectations
The right candidate will eagerly pursue opportunities to upsell and cross sell platform products to existing customers as well as target and close net new accounts ranging anywhere from $20,000 ARR to $1M+ARR
Exceed quarterly targets through prospecting, developing, and persuading key decision-makers at premium companies
Field incoming leads as well as generate outbound calls, occasionally making client site visits and presentations
Uses internal relationships to exceed customer expectations and provide support to the team
Engages and persuades mid-level to senior level management
Works with Technical Account Managers to vet onboarding the right large volume senders, omitting bad actors before we engage in a lengthy sales process

Our take

Over the course of well over a decade, Sinch has grown into an international service helping enterprise companies communicate with their customers over text, in-app video/voice messages, and other mobile channels. Used by Google, Tinder, Uber, and PayPal, among other marquee enterprise companies, most customers will have crossed paths with Sinch.

The company’s rise is due in part to an increased marketing focus on cultivating a highly personalised relationship between customer and brand. In part, too, it’s down to the surge in custom Sinch saw over recent years when more familiar channels of customer/brand communication went down. That seems to have settled now, but personalized messages, over text specifically, continues to play well among younger consumers.

It's going to prove a tough market to navigate going forward, though. Equally well-established competitors like Twilio, 8x8, and Link Mobility Group all have similar offerings. Sinch's foray into conversational AI will help them keep pace, as will their steady march of acquisitions, fundraising to fuel scaling efforts and partnerships with the likes of Salesforce.
