Role
Who you are
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on embedded systems, preferably within automotive, EV, or robotics industries
- Programming Languages: Strong proficiency in C++ and Python
- Embedded Systems: Extensive experience in Linux environments, embedded systems, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and low-level programming
- Experience architecting and developing software and seeing it through to customer delivery
- Familiarity with automotive communication physical layers: CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet
- Experience with unit-test frameworks: slash, pytest, google test, etc
- Experience with requirements authoring tools: Polarion, DOORS, Jama, Flow, etc
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Hands-on experience with debugging tools and troubleshooting both software and hardware
- Experience in using Git version control
What the job involves
- As a member of Harbinger's software team, you will play an active role in developing key features, both in-vehicle and outside vehicle supporting cross-functional teams
- Own development of vehicle software features for existing and new components that perform state-management, software updates, telemetry, and/or controls
- Develop and troubleshoot software to meet safety, quality, and performance standards specific to automotive and embedded applications
- Determine feature / functional requirements for vehicle features and architectures
- Implement communication interfaces for vehicle data and diagnostics
- Develop and execute unit-test plans for software verification
- Analyze requirements and define technical solutions for complex vehicle software systems
- Support development of diagnostic tools for service, manufacturing, and customers
- Root-cause reported issues with software, including in-vehicle problem diagnosis
- Support fleet service groups in soliciting customer feedback
- Support development of customer-facing portals and tools
