What the job involves
- As a Senior Software Engineer, you will employ your technical expertise to help your team implement new features, refactor key parts of the codebase, and improve the overall quality of the product
- Along the way you will be challenged to grow professionally and predictably ship code that helps your team achieve business goals
- Understand your team's domain and work productively within it
- Consistently design code that utilizes design abstractions and encapsulation effectively
- Write sustainable high-quality, high-performance code
- Effectively communicate peer review feedback to help your peers produce better code
- Use systematic debugging techniques and tools (logs, traces, metrics) to diagnose issues
- Approach all assignments with a security lens, actively look for security vulnerabilities both in the code and when providing peer reviews
- Review stories critically and ensure they’re appropriately broken down, and dependencies are well understood by the team
- Mentor teammates in an open, respectful, flexible, empathetic manner
- Participate in rotating on-call duties, including incident management
