Who you are
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or corporate development
Desirable
- Completion of a 2-3 year investment banking analyst program
- 4-6 years of experience in M&A, strategic investments, or a related field
- Experience building detailed financial models and valuation analyses
What the job involves
- In this hybrid role, you will report into our Head of Corporate Development and Investor Relations
- The Corporate Development team is on a mission: to keep Waymo ahead of the pack through cutting-edge corporate strategy and technology
- Deal Sourcing & Evaluation: Identify, screen, and evaluate potential M&A targets, strategic investments, or partnership opportunities against the company's strategic goals
- Financial Modeling & Valuation: Build detailed financial models for valuation purposes, deal negotiations, and comparable companies analysis
- Due Diligence & Deal Execution: Coordinate and lead cross-functional due diligence efforts, working closely with teams such as Legal, Finance, and Product Engineering
- Internal Communication & Reporting: Prepare internal investment memos, presentations, and other documentation required for deal evaluation and transaction approval
- Market & Industry Analysis: Conduct ongoing research and analysis of market trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging technologies to identify potential opportunities and threats
- Lead the assessment of new business lines by conducting rigorous financial modeling, market research, and commercial viability analysis to drive data-backed investment decisions
