What the job involves
- The Connectivity Team is responsible for helping our clients manage their API integrations with select Online Travel Agencies (OTA)
- This role focuses on the technical aspects of FareHarbor’s API External API integration
- Responsibilities include enabling new connections for clients, troubleshooting any errors, and corresponding with the OTA’s product teams on long term solutions for their systems and our mutual clients
- In addition, this candidate should develop a comprehensive understanding of FareHarbor’s External API, to help support all our integrations and internal teams when applicable
- Become an expert on FareHarbor’s integrations and new features
- Initiate, maintain and troubleshoot technical integrations between clients and partners
- Devise long term solutions to reduce future API errors when possible
- Act as a liaison between parties to research, solve and communicate complex and highly technical concepts in an easy to understand way
- Have an understanding of back-end management
- Answer inbound requests from clients and partners in a timely and professional manner
- Educate clients on API best practices
- Collaborate with all members of the Connectivity Team, Strategic Partnerships Team, and Channel Specialist Team
- Prioritize and complete inbound tasks in a timely manner
- Comfortable prioritizing tasks that require urgent attention and/or have been escalated internally
- Proactively and independently plan your day-to-day tasks and responsibilities

Most holiday-goers in the US prefer to book their activities and experiences online - but when it comes to local operators, this isn’t always possible. FareHarbor has been developing software to help digitize the booking process for these smaller businesses and, over a decade, has brought thousands of them onto the books.
Along the way, FareHarbor also built up some strong momentum in the reservation management and distribution areas of the sector, which drove up the company’s valuation - making it a prime candidate for acquisition. Whilst TripAdvisor reportedly made multiple bids, FareHarbor ultimately went to Booking Holdings, the US’ largest vendor of tour company booking software.
This put FareHarbor in a strong position, enabling it to focus on customer acquisition (and insulating it somewhat from wobbles in the hospitality sector.) A 2025 global integration with Booking.com sees FareHarbor's network of operators gain direct reach to millions of travellers, while allowing Booking.com to expand its attractions offering.
