HR Operations Specialist, Teachable

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, HR, Business, or related field

• We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented HR Operations Specialist to lead U.S. payroll operations and HR processes. This role ensures accuracy, compliance, and a great employee experience cross countries and across the full lifecycle — from onboarding to offboarding — while partnering closely with Finance, Legal, and People teams
• Manage end-to-end bi-weekly and semi-monthly U.S. payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees with our payroll provider, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely submission of federal, state, and local taxes
• Oversee multi-state payroll, including tax registrations, SUI/FUTA filings, and compliance with wage and hour laws
• Reconcile payroll reports and work closely with Finance on GL entries and audits
• Maintain accurate employee data in HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., BambooHR, Deel)
• Manage benefit deductions, 401(k), bonuses, and other adjustments
• Ensure compliance with I-9, EEO, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and other labor regulations
• Support audits, documentation, and HR reporting
• Coordinate employee lifecycle operations: onboarding, changes, terminations, and leave management, ensuring smooth transitions, and proper documentation
• Partner on HR process improvements, policies, and vendor management
• Champion annual open enrollment processes in partnership with our benefits broker
• Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding HR operations, payroll, benefits questions, etc
• Owns immigration processes
• Local support for office activities
• HR vendor management and budget management
