Who you are

3+ years of experience designing user interfaces for video games
Advanced knowledge of XD, Figma, or similar software
Understanding of fundamental layout principles, usability, and interface design best practices
Ability to produce high quality work quickly within strict deadlines and time constraints
Agility to work with frequent design changes and iterations
Excellent team player with strong verbal and written communication skills
General understanding of programming principles is a plus
A passion for video games is a plus
Experience working on Mobile apps/ Mobile games is a plus

What the job involves

Build and maintain the design system
Create and define of the visual “rules” of the interface
Own the creation and execution of the visual mock-ups of new features
Partner with designers, programmers, and the interface team to ensure projects are completed on time and meet the expectations of the design intent
Find creative ways to solve problems within existing technical limitations
Work closely with Scrum Master to define the production plan for the UI art
Ensure visual consistency throughout the experience
Work with UI Artists to breathe life and motion into specific zones
Partner with User Research to gain a better understanding of how artistic concepts are received by the end user
Understand existing technical limitations to define requirements for future capabilities

Since the release of the PS1 in 1994, PlayStation has been a consistent leader in the video gaming market. Its consoles are iconic in the gaming community - PlayStation has produced both the top-selling and fastest-selling console of all time - and the company is still pushing boundaries. Its current flagship - the PS5 - promises to revolutionise gaming, featuring new technology that will create improvements across the board.

As well as its consoles, PlayStation has also developed online services, connecting its users and giving them access to diversified media. A PlayStation can be used for a huge range of activities - from Netflix to guided workouts - which has led to the expansion of the company's audience over time and across generations.

PlayStation faces competition in its field from the likes of Microsoft, with its Xbox range, and PC gaming, which has been becoming more popular in recent years. Regardless, PlayStation shows no signs of slowing down. The upcoming implementation of in-game ads in free games looks to significantly increase revenue, and the wider PlayStation gaming experience also appears to be evolving from plans to launch live service games in upcoming years.
