What the job involves
- We are looking for an Product Operations Specialist to help us scale operations and grow our capital products
- This role will be a critical operator of the company's products suite by providing a positive payment experience for the small businesses we support
- You will be responsible for running and building best in class processes for payments, fraud, and servicing
- You will become an expert on Parafin’s Capital product, digging deep into the details to solve problems, being an on-the-ground operator to support day-to-day functions, from troubleshooting payments issues to data analysis to building documentation
- Assist in developing operational solutions to help evaluate complex business risk issues in a fast paced environment
- Conduct reviews to assess risk factors for high priority merchants
- Troubleshoot and resolve payment issues with our merchants, while providing high quality service via email and phone
- Manage cross functional work streams with our customer support, data science, compliance and engineering teams to improve the merchant experience and grow originations
- Review current processes and provide feedback on how to improve product operations and Parafin as a whole
- Work closely with our partners to identify areas of risk and investigate fraudulent behavior
- Use data-driven analysis to identify areas of optimization and growth
Our take
Parafin is a fintech platform helping SMBs access growth capital. It targets platforms where SMBs sell and transact and offers an embedded finance solution with which these platforms can offer loans ranging from $500 to $10M. Parafin provides the capital for these loans and assumes the risk, allowing platforms to offer competitively attractive incentives to help them draw in a larger proportion of the growing SMB market.
Parafin’s focus on SMB growth funding is canny. Most worldwide businesses fall into the SMB category, but funding access for these businesses shrunk dramatically post-pandemic when traditional banks became more conservative with their loan approvals. This exacerbates SMB cash-flow issues, which reportedly already account for more than four in five SMB failures.
This means Parafin is helping platforms fill a growing and crucial market niche. With leadership from former Robinhood employees, confident funding from major players including the founders of Robinhood, DoorDash, and Plaid, and partnerships with Amazon, Parafin looks poised to net a substantial and lucrative market.
