Who you are

5+ years of professional experience developing modern web applications
A minimum of 2+ years working with TypeScript
Experience architecting new features, creating new APIs, and developing new integrations
Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases
Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, GCP, Azure)
Experience in a startup or high-growth environment
Capable of having technical discussions at the right level of abstraction

Desirable

Experience building AI-powered features, using LLMs, RAG, designing agentic systems
Experience working with Terraform and Kubernetes
A strong desire to improve developer experience, improve observability, and make other engineers’ lives easier
Experience integrating with Microsoft services, e.g., Entra, 365, Active Directory

What the job involves

We seek 2 Senior Full Stack Software Engineers to join our team and evolve the Budibase platform
In this role, you will work across our entire tech stack, from our infra and backend services to the frontend experiences our users love
You will design, develop, and deploy new product features that will directly impact our users
You will solve complex integration challenges and ensure our systems scale
You will be part of a team capable of shipping a new feature from inception to production in under a week, that delivers real value to users
Develop our frontend applications (Svelte + TypeScript)
Expand our backend services (Node.js + TypeScript)
Solve complex integration problems by connecting Budibase to new databases and services
Write clean and maintainable TypeScript, continuing to grow the quality of the codebase
Work closely with our product team to deliver features that our users will love
Collaborate closely with a distributed team of engineers to build exciting features and learn from each other
Maintain and expand end‑to‑end integration and behaviour tests
Help maintain existing features, work with the customer success team to fix bugs, and keep our users happy
As Budibase is open source, you’ll work with the community and contribute publicly

Our take

Low-code development tools are in high demand for their ease of use and ability to hugely reduce product launch runways. This is especially the case when it comes to building apps for internal use, freeing up developers to focus on building products that can be monetised. Indeed, the global low-code development platform market size is growing annually by around 30%.

Budibase has tapped into the demand, allowing users to connect to external databases and build internal tools such as apps, forms, and workflows in minutes. Despite only being founded in 2019, the platform is already being used by tens of thousands of companies, including high profile names like Netflix, Disney, Tesla and P&G.

Having secured venture funding in November 2022, the company is now backing itself to grow further in the next few years, differentiating itself by being open-source and including a number of automated built-in features to boost its user-friendliness.
