UX Researcher Lead, Gravity Sketch

• Demonstrable experience in setting up processes for the research team’s utilisation
• High level of proficiency in qualitative research techniques - formative and evaluative – be it guerrilla research, POC evaluation, card sorting, ethnography, in-depth 1-on-1 interviews, survey questionnaires, focus groups, co-creation, usability testing lo-fi concepts/hi-fi designs, proposition validation and so on
• Excellent project management skills including research roadmap building, generating screeners and research project management skills. Be comfortable in managing research projects within a cross-functional organisational team environment
• High level of proficiency in communicating data and complex information in digestible formats and translating research findings into compelling storytelling, presentable artefacts and actionable tools (e.g. personas, user journeys, proof-of-concept videos, storyboarding, experience walkthroughs, ideation stimuli) to engender empathy, bring insights to life and obtain buy-in from stakeholders
• You are value and results-oriented, and you can communicate the benefits of using insights from research in a cross-functional business environment
• You are comfortable getting their hands dirty with data – which is material for fueling conversations and refining decision-making in digital product development
• You are proactive, you will map out the UX Research team’s priorities in collaboration with product leadership
• You work widely across the business to ensure UX research insights and action drive forward the customer experience and business strategy

Desirable

• This role is maternity cover, we expect this post to last a minimum of six months. We are open to freelancers and contractors
• We’ve got an exciting challenge when it comes to user research as our users move between the web, VR applications, computers/tablets, VR headsets and back again - sometimes all in a single workflow
• We are looking for someone who is curious, with a passion for learning about people through research and who wants to dive into the details of how they think and behave, coming out with the evidence to showcase your thinking & ideas
• As a UX Research lead/ Senior UX Researcher, you will play a strategic role within the product team while also working with senior leadership across other parts of the organisation such as Commercial, Marketing and Operations
• You will act as the voice of UX research showcasing the value it brings to the business
• What you’ll be doing:
• You will bring your expertise to the wider GS team, and mentor them in using research methods appropriately
• Work with leadership to prioritise research projects based on business needs
• Create project proposals based on stakeholder requests. Enable the wider team to conduct research studies by applying the most appropriate methodologies and tools based on the nature of the study such as by undertaking audits of existing products/ features and working in a hands-on approach with Product Managers & designers who may have little experience of UX research
• You will facilitate the development of research projects autonomously and be prepared to jump in and work in a hands-on manner when the situation demands it. Support on end-to-end research studies from scoping through to execution, including discovery work and service design initiatives
• Provide clear, concise and actionable recommendations based on research insights and facilitate evidence-based product and design solutions
