Who you are
- Bachelors or masters degree in a relevant field, such as data science, computer science, business analytics, or a related discipline
- Proven experience as a data analytics product manager or a similar role, preferably in the context of product intelligence
- Strong knowledge of data analytics methodologies, tools, and techniques, including data mining, statistical analysis, and data visualization
- Proficiency in data analytics and visualization tools such as SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, Snowflake or similar platforms
- Solid understanding of product management principles and product development lifecycle
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver projects within deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
What the job involves
- As a Data Analytics Product Manager supporting Product Intelligence, you will play a crucial role in driving data-driven decision-making to enable product led growth along with optimizing product performance
- Your primary responsibility will be to develop and manage data analytics products and solutions that enable the organization to gain insights into product usage, customer behavior, and market trends
- You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders, to define requirements, prioritize projects, and ensure successful product delivery
- Data Analytics Strategy:
- Develop and execute a data analytics strategy aligned with the goals and objectives of Product Intelligence
- Identify key metrics and KPIs to measure product performance, user engagement, and market trends
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data analytics and recommend innovative solutions to enhance product intelligence capabilities
- Product Development and Management:
- Define and prioritize the product intelligence roadmap and features based on business needs and user requirements
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, document use cases, and define success criteria for data analytics products
- Work closely with data scientists, engineers, and UX/UI designers to develop scalable and user-friendly data analytics solutions
- Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure the quality and performance of data analytics products
- Data Insights and Reporting:
- Analyze complex data sets, perform data mining, and generate actionable insights to drive product strategy and decision-making
- Design and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations that provide real-time and historical insights into product performance and user behavior
- Communicate insights effectively to stakeholders, including executives, product managers, and business teams, through presentations and reports
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with product managers and business stakeholders to understand their data needs, identify gaps, and provide data-driven recommendations
- Collaborate with data engineering and data science teams to ensure data availability, accuracy, and integrity
- Work closely with engineering teams to integrate data analytics capabilities into product offerings and improve data collection processes
- Project Management:
- Work closely with the delivery team for end-to-end data execution of analytics projects
- Regularly communicate project updates, milestones, and challenges to stakeholders
Our take
Zoom reworked video conferencing when most people assumed it was a solved problem, with services from Cisco and Skype already ubiquitous in workplaces and homes. However, its videoconferencing infrastructure was simpler to use, faster and more flexible than any previous solution, and it swiftly took the world by storm.
Its success bred competition, however, and companies such as Microsoft and Google, along with numerous smaller communications firms, have begun making inroads on Zoom's formerly commanding lead. Additionally, as workplaces are mostly adopting a hybrid or flexible working strategy, some of its importance as a workplace tool is wearing off and it is recording a gradual decline in daily usage rates.
To counter these trends, Zoom is expanding its business offerings through product development and strategic acquisitions. Alongside many other large tech companies, it has battled through a difficult economic situation, but it nonetheless remains a profitable company and household name. Plus, its track record of innovation means it is still very much one to watch in the communications space.
