Who you are
- 10+ years of progressive content marketing experience with notable consumer brands in health & wellness, technology, SaaS or a closely related industry
- Preference to be based in NYC or LA, but open to remote
- Collaborative leader with strong writing and editorial skills coupled with a data and experiment driven approach to content creation
- Experience across the entire content marketing process, from needs assessment through measurement
- Excellent writing and editing skills that can be applied to B2B or B2C business such as blog posts, articles, social channels, white papers, case studies, e-books, guides, webinars, infographics, short form blog entries, “How To” videos, etc
- Experience across social networks, blogs, and content sharing communities
- Ability to process and make decisions based on data and set quantitative goals
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities, while providing visibility into the workflow
- Experience inspiring, motivating and leading a high performing team

What the job involves
- Medly is seeking a Head of Content Marketing & Development to lead the next phase of growth for the company
- The ideal candidate will be a tech-savvy marketer capable of understanding complex concepts and simplifying and communicating them to our customers (both patients and providers)
- You will develop & execute a holistic content strategy that differentiates Medly from its competitors, uses visually crisp and engaging marketing content across all channels (e.g., blogs, emails, video, social, testimonials, webinars, case studies, landing pages, etc) that illuminates a wide range of health & wellness topics for our customers (new and existing)
- The ideal candidate will recognize the value of content as a strategic tool to build Medly’s brand and drive traffic
- Develop and implement effective content marketing strategies to drive and engage qualified traffic to Medly
- Develop holistic content strategy — Leverage core understanding of Medly’s market positioning and consumer base to define and develop the entire editorial calendar, working cross functionally across all marketing channels (including but not limited to: blog, social, email, video, case studies, testimonials, white papers, partnerships, etc) to ensure flawless execution and alignment with key stakeholders
- Content development — Work with copywriters, editors and designers to develop best-in-class original content for Medly blog(s), social media, YouTube, paid ads & partnerships, email, site and as needed for other marketing channels
- Define customer and audience personas-- partner with Research and BI teams to map how and where to reach each customer segment in their journey
- Craft content/creative briefs and partner with the design & creative teams to provide a consultative voice from project kickoff through delivery
- Content Distribution via Partnerships — In addition to distributing content via the channels mentioned above, identify additional third party sites, content networks, communities, partnerships, etc. to engage our target market via contextually relevant content integrations
- SEO strategy-- work with SEO manager to develop and execute against a comprehensive SEO strategy which takes into account both the technical and marketing aspects. This includes site mapping, linking strategy, keyword research, implementation and analysis of SEO programs. Use keyword research as the foundation for content topics, formats and distribution
- Define and achieve KPIs including:
- Organic search rankings via SEO content
- Conversion of site visitors through content engagement
- Customer acquisition via content distribution
- Brand engagement across marketing channels (email, social, media, etc.)
- Manage content hosting, tracking, engagement and reporting— manage migration to new CMS (WordPress), as needed
- Leadership & Team Management—Manage team of freelance writers, vendors, copywriter, editor, SEO managers; add as needed
