- You take pride in delivering high-quality and powerful products to customers while also championing technical excellence
- You have 3+ years of experience as a full-stack software engineer, including familiarity with the different pieces of technology involved in building modern web applications
- Experience applying AI tools and best practices to enhance efficiency, code quality and delivery of business objectives
- You have experience writing server-side code leveraging modern OOP practices using Ruby and PostgreSQL
- You have experience building interfaces with React and modern component-based interfaces
- You have a strong understanding of relational databases and the ability to design and implement systems that scale and avoid performance bottlenecks
- You’re eager to contribute your ideas and experiences to help Affinity continuously improve as a product and as a company
What the job involves
- Reporting to the Sr Engineering Manager, as a Software Engineer II, you'll have the opportunity to push our product in new directions while also shaping the next iterations of the features our customers already love. You'll define the future of core pieces of our backend across areas like our data model, as well as core pieces of our frontend, like design systems or rich visualizations
- From front-end usability to back-end algorithms, async workers to scalable applications, you'll hone your skills across multiple domains while helping to drive forward the Affinity product and vision
- Own product areas that are critical to the success of our customers and our business
- Collaborate with world-class engineering, product, and design teams -- you'll have the opportunity to learn from a wide variety of experiences and, of course, to share your own
- Grow your expertise and fluency with core pieces of technology across the full application stack
- Our platform is built with React and TypeScript on the front end, and with Ruby and PostgreSQL on the back end. Our infrastructure is hosted by AWS and runs on Kubernetes
Our take
Up to 90% of company profiles in traditional customer relationship management systems (CRMs) are incomplete or out-of-date, causing missed sales opportunities and wasted time. Affinity exists to change this state of affairs, using AI to analyse a company's communications and interactions to provide the most accurate profile possible, powering sales and excellent customer relationships.
While other modern CRMs exist, few of them are able to automate data input on the scale of Affinity, which has processed around 20 trillion emails and hundreds of thousands of calendar events to date. It also focuses on industries that are underserved in the CRM sector, including investment banking and real estate. This has grown it a client base of more than 3,000 customers including major enterprises such as Bain Capital Ventures, Nike and Twilio.
Affinity is focusing on expanding its sales, marketing, and engineering teams to grow its customer base and develop new products. As companies look to both improve the performance of their sales teams and reduce costs in manual data entry, Affinity's product is likely to remain extremely popular.
