What the job involves
- This is a 12-week internship during summer 2026
- Coinbase is looking for a highly motivated Credit Risk Intern to support our Credit Risk team
- You will help manage complex credit risks across a global client base, in a dynamic digital asset market environment
- Working closely with risk professionals and product teams, your responsibilities will include underwriting counterparties, evaluating cryptocurrency asset risks, monitoring and reporting exposures across derivative and financing products, and contributing to thought leadership to deliver lending and trading solutions
- Perform diligence and underwrite clients and counterparties, for example hedge funds, asset managers, corporates, market makers, and payment providers
- Recommend internal credit ratings and risk-based product limits, and prepare written analysis to substantiate your assessment
- Conduct continuous surveillance of counterparties and products, along with periodic portfolio reviews
- Analyze asset volatility and liquidity risks on a per-asset and portfolio basis
- Provide recurring monitoring of client activity, market developments, and portfolio concentrations and clearly communicate trends to leadership
- Collaborate with stakeholders (product teams, sales teams, operations, legal, etc.) to resolve client or product challenges
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and products to continuously expand your knowledge and expertise
