Role
Who you are
- You are a team player, willing to get stuck in and solve problems in a fast-paced environment
- An have a keen interest in residential Solar PV, Battery, EV charger, and Heat Pump installations, and a strong desire to build your electrical and technical knowledge
- You hold Electrical Installation/ Electrical Engineering Level 2 and Level 3 Qualifications, an electrical engineering degree, or have other relevant technical background
- You can work effectively with multiple stakeholders, prioritise, and drive efficiency in the processes you own
Desirable
- Experience with solar, EV charging or heat pump installations, and solar design software (e.g. one of OpenSolar, PVSol, PVSyst, etc)
- IET 18th Edition (BS7671) Level 1, 2 or 3 qualification
- Full UK driving licence strongly preferred

What the job involves
- As a Solar Technical Associate at Sunsave, you will be responsible for planning and supporting the delivery of residential solar installations through our installation partners
- Becoming a technical expert within Sunsave’s Operations Team, supporting team members coordinating installation projects and providing escalated technical support for installed customers
- You will become an expert in the installation and design process for solar, batteries and other low carbon tech
- Conducting remote surveys of Sunsave’s customer properties to assess installation feasibility
- Analysing complex data from our portfolio of PV & battery systems to diagnose faults and underperformance, using a range of tools including Excel, Metabase and CRM tools.
- The role is office based, but expect the occasional site visit too as these are a great way to learn your craft!

70% of people in the UK are interested in solar, and Sunsave's model removes the biggest barrier to adoption - the ~£10k typical upfront cost and long payback period - so customers can save on their energy bills from day one. They offer an all-in-one subscription that includes finance, installation, monitoring and maintenance, really helping customers get the most out of their systems
Already, the company has attracted the attention of blue-chip VC funds such as Norrsken, IPGL, the UK Department of Energy, and household name entrepreneurs, including Michael Spencer and Stuart Rose. Alongside this, they raised a £13M Series A in July 2025, alongside a £100M debt facility to scale their subscription model.
They plan to also expand into complementary products like EV chargers and heat pumps, alongside tariff optimisation and energy insight software. The eventual aim is to build the company's first decentralised home energy platform and revolutionise households' relationship with energy.
