- 2+ years’ of work experience. Preferably in market research, lead generation, marketing or sales, ideally within SaaS businesses
- Proven track record of success with a sales cycle
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Have an outgoing personality and the ability to hold an engaging conversation or write an attention-grabbing email
- Identify customer needs and solve for gaps with creative outreach strategy & discovery including, but limited to: email copy, warm/cold calls, social media outreach, in-person events
- High level of resilience and ability to handle objection both over phone and email
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload to maximize efficiency
- Represent the company and our products with a high degree of professionalism
- A competitive nature and relentless drive to succeed
- Experience with Salesforce.com or other CRM software, outreach, Chat tools, Zoominfo, SalesNav
- Fluent in German and English
What the job involves
- We're looking for a Sales Development Representative (SDR) who will prospect and qualify potential customers for the Vimeo Sales team, building trust and rapport that result in qualified opportunities
- The Sales Development Representative is the first point of contact between prospective customers and Vimeo and will be responsible for generating and qualifying new prospects
- Building a point of view on how to help qualify customers needs
- Prospect for new business, researching companies and individuals that meet criteria for prospective partnership with Vimeo
- Develop ideal customer profiles for outbound prospecting and qualify prospects while leveraging BANT criteria
- Grow top of sales funnel through warm and cold outbound campaigns
- Build new methods for attracting clients
- Schedule high quality meetings with prospective customers for the sales team
- Work to meet and exceed monthly goals defined to maximize deal flow with outbound emails, calls, setting up meetings, etc
- Speaking to value and return on investment vs. technical functionality
- Learning how to anticipate and prepare for objections
- Demonstrating adaptability and flexibility as part of an ever-growing sales organization
- Managing a high volume of inbound leads with a strategy on prioritization of your leads
- Researching and understanding various lines of business and personas
- Work to meet and exceed monthly goals defined to maximize deal flow with outbound emails, calls, setting up meetings, etc

Our take
Vimeo was founded by filmmakers who wanted an efficient way to share videos with others. It is more creator-oriented than YouTube, with professional software, technology, and tools for creators to produce, share, and sell their videos.
In 2007, it became the first online video sharing site to support HD playback for consumers, updating to 4K playback in 2016. Vimeo's app has also been updated to allow recording and live streaming as well as watching video. This service is aimed predominantly at enterprise customers although they have millions of small-time users too.
Vimeo has risen to become the world's biggest ad-free open video platform, with significant funding that has allowed it to expand operations and build up the business. Recently, however, the company has found itself struck by the effects of the economic downturn felt by much of the industry, and has been forced to reduce its workforce - a step taken to ensure it comes out of this rough time "a stronger company". On top of this, it received a hefty fine for failure to remove copyrighted content back in 2019, after losing an appeal against the initial ruling.
In 2024, Vimeo is rumoured to be in the process of acquisition by leading mobile app developer Bending Spoons, which could signify a major shift in the tech landscape.
