Role
Who you are
- 3+ years of relevant experience in a fast-paced, startup or scale-up environment
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
- Proven experience delivering end-to-end analytics or data products with clear business impact
- Experience owning data pipelines, dashboards, and analytical tooling used by non-technical stakeholders
- Hands-on experience implementing automation, workflows, or process optimisations that reduce manual effort
- Working knowledge of AWS or a comparable cloud platform
- Ability to operate as the sole in-house technical and data owner, managing external developers or contractors
- Strong communication skills and the ability to translate business problems into technical solutions
- Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
Desirable
- Experience applying machine learning or data science techniques, particularly to natural-language data
- Experience working with AI or LLM-powered systems in operational or commercial contexts
- Experience in EdTech, education, or tutoring platforms
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field
- Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks or backend services (e.g. React, Node.js)
What the job involves
- This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role reporting directly to the CEO and Founder. You will own all technology and data across the Educai platform and the company’s supporting tools. As the sole internal technical expert, you will set technical direction, make architectural decisions, and ensure technology meaningfully supports business growth.
- Owning and developing the company’s data and analytics capability to enable high-quality operational and strategic decision-making
- Leading the development and rollout of new product and data initiatives, including managing external development partners
- Designing, building, and maintaining scalable, secure data infrastructure, integrations, and automated workflows
- Improving internal operations through smarter tooling, better processes, and pragmatic technical solutions
- Working directly with the CEO and leadership team to turn business priorities into executable technical plans

Our take
Whilst between jobs, Wonders of Maths’ Founder began informally helping his daughter with maths homework, and in the process, uncovered a glaring gap in the market for truly engaging maths tutoring. To fully engage a student, the subject must be taught in a way that interests and stimulates them, so Wonders of Maths was launched to help children find their “in” with the subject.
The personalised and adaptable approach to Maths tutoring offered by Wonders of Maths led to its expansion into other subjects.
