Who you are
- This role is ideal for a creative, systems-minded designer with exceptional taste and a bias toward action, someone who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and is motivated by work that truly matters
- 9+ years of experience in visual , product brand and crafting design systems at scale. Work that reflects not just visual polish, but the ability to build, evolve, and diversify brand systems over time
- Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to articulate how brand decisions impact product experience and user trust
- You can clearly articulate creative rationale, lead brainstorms, and build alignment across marketing, product, content, and leadership teams
- A portfolio that demonstrates a mastery of your craft. Deep expertise in visual design fundamentals: typography, composition, hierarchy, and interaction design, with meticulous attention to detail
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to be able to tackle multiple projects simultaneously, moving between strategic thinking and visual execution with ease
- You have a general passion for design and are actively exploring how AI and emerging technologies are reshaping design workflows, systems, and creative possibilities

- As a Brand Design Director at Abridge, you will set a new standard for design in healthcare, redefining what brand means in healthcare and shaping how Abridge looks, feels, and communicates at every touchpoint of the user experience

- You’ll own the brand design system that creates the first consumer grade experience across healthcare systems and drives meaningful impact
- With a refined, premium aesthetic and sharp strategic instincts, you’ll collaborate closely with product designers and push the team toward ever-higher standards
- Your work will transform bold ideas into tangible brand moments to build a presence that is distinctive, consistent, and unforgettable
- Define and evolve our brand to position us as a leader in healthcare AI. Establish principles and direction that guide the brand at scale
- Inspire and elevate the design team through thoughtful critique, ambitious vision, and clarity of perspective. Drive alignment across stakeholders and confidently articulate the “why” behind creative decisions
- Translate complex strategy into compelling campaigns, brand moments, and experiences. Build narratives that feel cohesive across touchpoints and emotionally resonant across audiences
- Evolve and expand our brand system to support future growth. Create flexible frameworks, templates and libraries, that empower others while maintaining cohesion
- Partner cross-functionally to concept and launch new initiatives from the ground up. Bring both strategic direction and hands-on craft to early-stage work
- Model world-class fundamentals across typography, layout, composition, and color. Flex the brand across digital, print and experiential work, maintaining a level of polish and cohesion throughout
Our take
Summarising key elements of healthcare conversations is crucial for both physicians and patients. Medical scribes, though effective, are costly, and the healthcare system faces funding and staffing crises. This has created a demand for more efficient notetaking solutions.
This is where Abridge comes in; it has developed a HIPAA-compliant AI platform that transcribes, structures, summarises, and provides insights from audio or transcripts of medical conversations. It claims to work across all specialities and offers patient-friendly summaries in easy-to-understand language.
Abridge aims to alleviate pressure on the healthcare system from the patient's perspective, a unique approach among healthtech startups. While companies like Inovia, DOUB, and DeepScribe focus on assisting physicians with medical transcription AI, they lack Abridge's patient-centric features, which are valuable in enhancing the patient experience. Its unique focus, then, is part of the reason why it enjoyed two impressive rounds of funding in 2025 alone.
