Role
Who you are
- The ideal person has experience selling into commercial building material suppliers and/or developing sales channels (with a focus on driving customer acquisition)
- The ideal candidate has a history of exceeding sales quotas, building channel sales partnerships, and loves the challenges that come with standing up a new partnership channel
- Experience in construction and finance is preferred
- 7-10 years of channel sales or business development experience
- Ability to thrive in an environment of high ambiguity and change
- Must have a competitive drive and persevere to consistently achieve excellence and overcome adversity
- Must be a self starter and continuously invest in self development and learning
- Experience selling financial services products to building material suppliers is preferred
- Familiarity with technology tools such as Salesforce, Outreach and Slack is preferred
What the job involves
- We are looking for a dynamic, high-performing Business Development Manager to own Billd’s supplier channel
- This role will be responsible for acquiring new partner suppliers, deepening relationships with existing partner suppliers, and ensuring the channel delivers on customer acquisition targets
- This person will be the face of the Billd brand to suppliers and will own all aspects of building out the supplier channel
- Prospect, onboard, and manage relationships with building material suppliers from $10M - $5B in annual revenue (target profile is $50-500M)
- Lead negotiations with C-level executives (at the supplier) and handle all contract management
- Work hand in hand with Billd Sales Development Representatives and Territory Managers to ensure contractor referrals (from suppliers) properly flow through the Billd sales funnel and result in new Billd customers
- Develop marketing and sales strategies to drive contractor referrals from partner suppliers
- Conduct both in-person and virtual demos to activate supplier partnerships
- Review and manage ongoing supplier deal flow including pipeline reviews with sales and operations executives
- Consistently provide product feedback internally to facilitate the evolution of Billd’s supplier channel
- Work cross-functionally as a part of the Billd team in areas such as marketing, sales, product, finance, and legal
- Approximately 10% travel required

Billd is a company that allows contractors to finance materials from any supplier, with longer loan terms than is standard in the industry. This can help contractors pay for the materials they need while avoiding slowdowns in cashflow. Equally, the solution allows suppliers to be more competitive by bringing more payment options to the table.
Billd works with thousands of contractors across the United States, as well as regional and national materials suppliers. The company has exceeded revenue expectations and continues to grow, with new products and partnerships in the pipeline. It recently announced a new debt facility that will support increased demand from new and existing customers.
