Who you are
- You should also be a team player who is comfortable communicating their solutions both with engineers and non-technical team members and who isn't shy of proposing new solutions, with a knack for appealing visual design and utility
- Proven experience as a Full-stack Engineer or similar role
- Experience developing mobile and web applications
- Proficient in one or more backend languages (ideally Golang, TypeScript)
- Knowledge of front-end languages, libraries and SDKs
- Familiarity with cloud hosting platforms for app hosting (preferably AWS)
- Self-directed learning who can quickly gain an operational knowledge of new technology quickly and independently
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Great attention to detail
- An analytical and solution-focussed mind
What the job involves
- We are looking for an ambitious and product-focussed Full-stack Engineer to produce, update and maintain scalable software solutions and integrate these with our existing infrastructure
- You’ll become an integral part of one or more cross-functional teams that produce touch points with HIVED's systems - developing shiny new product features for recipients or designing bulletproof workflows and apps for thousands of HIVED drivers and riders
- As such, you will have a tangible impact on growing HIVED's product and apps in a rapid but sustainable fashion and ensuring a pleasant and clear user interaction with our systems
- As a Full-stack Engineer, you should be comfortable with both front-end and backend languages, development frameworks and third-party libraries as well as picking up new skills or technologies
- Work with (cross-functional) development teams and product managers to create software solutions and apps
- Design client-side and server-side architecture and collaborate with other engineers to bring your solutions to life
- Build the front-end of applications through appealing visual design and work closely with our designers and product managers to create new, appealing features
- Design, implement and maintain a scalable backend architecture to power HIVED’s internal operations and externally facing integrations
- Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency
- Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software
- Write both technical and non-technical documentation

Parcel delivery currently relies on fossil-fuel powered vans for the most part — and they pollute the air we breathe, emit large amounts of CO₂ and congest our cities. At the same time, customer service is notoriously poor, unethical business practices are rampant, and the technology is outdated. HIVED offers an alternative: 100% electric delivery, cutting emissions by up to 76%.
The company's technology is so efficient, it can match – or sometimes even be cheaper – than the current high-emission carriers. HIVED has fundamentally set itself apart from larger competitors by cutting their emissions by 76%, which will be a significant advantage as the UK is witnessing a green economic boom in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
The industry's expansion grew to $141.05 bn globally in 2025, which will undoubtedly be underpinned by a push towards sustainability. HIVED is well-positioned to capitalise on this, particularly if it can maintain its current high standards off the back of its impressive 2025 Series B investment round.
