Who you are
- You’ll be a great fit for this role if a self-starter with deep knowledge of media monitoring, analytics, and PR technology, someone who thrives in consultative sales environments and has a proven track record of exceeding revenue goals while building trust-based partnerships with clients
- 3+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably in software, services, or SaaS
- Prior experience in media monitoring, analytics, or PR tech strongly preferred
- Background in journalism, media strategy, or communications is a plus
- Familiarity with KPIs and success metrics commonly used by PR or communications teams
- Comfortable managing complex sales cycles and engaging multiple stakeholders
- Experience using CRM tools such as HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar platforms
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences
- Skilled at storytelling and clearly explaining complex ideas
- Confident analyzing data and connecting insights to customer needs and outcomes
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment
- Must be based in the US
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a strategic, driven, and consultative Solutions Consultant, Media Intelligence to join our team and drive new revenue, shape our go-to-market strategy, and build lasting client relationships in the media intelligence space
- As a Solutions Consultant, your mission will be to identify and close high-value opportunities, build strong relationships with decision-makers in PR, communications, and marketing, and help define the sales playbook for our growing team
- Serve as a media intelligence subject-matter expert during the sales process, supporting Account Executives and Customer Success Managers
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, RevOps, Marketing, and Customer Success to ensure prospects fully understand the value of our media solutions
- Assist in qualifying opportunities and aligning client needs with our offerings
- Deliver tailored demos, technical walkthroughs, prepare sample briefs and presentations that speak directly to client challenges
- Support RFP responses, custom proposal creation, and technical documentation as needed
- Use CRM tools like HubSpot or Salesforce to track activity and collaborate with sales team members
- Providing a comprehensive update and commentary on monthly sales performance, short- to medium-term forecasts, and progress against the sales strategy, while recommending any adjustments for approval

Muck Rack was founded in 2009 as a platform for businesses to connect with journalists. As of 2022, tens of thousands of journalists have profiles on Muck Rack that are available for businesses such as Google, Pfizer, and Duolingo to browse and employ writers from.
The nature of journalism has evolved since Muck Rack’s founding, with social media and digital outlets taking demand away from printed publications. As the landscape changes, Muck Rack has expanded their services to include a Public Relations Management platform.
It’s moves like this, as well as their shift into being a “distributed” business (hybrid or remote) that has ignited a renewed confidence in Muck Rack from investors. Though the company has been bootstrapped since its founding, Muck Rack received its first outside funding to the sum of $180 million in 2022, exemplifying how important investors deem their platform to be.
With its substantial funding, the future is bright for Muck Rack, though they will have to think carefully about how to advance the platform. Digital content can go viral in a matter of hours, and the creators are not always journalists.
