What the job involves
- As a Data Engineer intern, you’ll be part of veepeeTech and the data platform team along with 6 other colleagues
- The data platform team is currently working on the following projects:
- Core topicsSystem architecture, technical guidelines, deployment, infrastructure, monitoring and alerting, etc. The core team is transversal to the entire data department and helps the teams to align technically on data solutions, and to deploy and run our data ingestion and machine learning applications
- Factory topicsData factory is all about data ingestion, processing and exposition. The factory team is in charge of developing and maintaining a data ingestion platform to aggregate all group structured data into a data warehouse. The team is also responsible for providing API to expose governed data entities to other group applications
- You’ll be part of the data platform team, working on factory topics ! Alongside two experienced data engineers, you’ll contribute to Veepee’s data ingestion platform
- The team is fully cloud-native, working with Google Cloud Platform products such as BigQuery, Cloud Dataflow, GKE, Bigtable, etc
- The platform teams developed an ingestion platform around the concept of data contracts: resources (API endpoints, message buses, pipelines, targeted tables in Bigquery, related permissions) are automatically deployed based on a schema (ie. data contract) definition on which we agree with the teams creating data entities in their systems, and the business needing these entities to build KPIs, analytics or ML use cases
- We need you to develop an interface application around the contract centric design. Some less technical users need to know which versions of the contracts are in production for instance, or which sub-resources are available or not
- As an intern, your key task would be to design and develop a REST API, focused on a contract-centric design
- Your efforts will help create a user-friendly interface, simplifying the contract deployment workflow and versioning process. This interface will empower users to test, validate, and deploy their contracts to staging and production environments with ease and security
- Your development work will adhere to the principles of clean coding and craftsmanship, with a main focus on maintaining high-quality standards
- Participate in the refactoring and improvement of our scheduled job deployment workflow. We need you to deep dive airflow newest features and provide insights and implementation recommendations based on our current usage
