Role
Who you are
- In this role, a deep understanding of Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, Terraform, Terragrunt, Kustomize, Helm, and ArgoCD is essential for success.
- Additionally, strong coding skills in Go are required to effectively manage the technical aspects of the platform and contribute to the development process.
- BS in Computer Science or related field
- 5+ years of experience as a DevOps, Infrastructure, Site Reliability or Cloud Engineer
- Proven track record of success in rapidly scaling startup environments
- Cloud networking and orchestration with AWS (EKS, ECS, VPC, S3, ELB) AND/OR GCP
- Significant experience writing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Terragrunt, and/or Ansible
- Strong Kubernetes experience with Docker or RKT containerization
- Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions (preferred), Jenkins, Travis CI, Circle CI
- Experience with automation and configuration management using Ansible, Puppet or Chef
- Experience with Linux-based infrastructures (Ubuntu preferred)
- Expert-level knowledge of Golang and Kubernetes
- Working knowledge of decentralized architecture design patterns and distributed systems
What the job involves
- This hire will play a pivotal role in managing a team of infrastructure software developers to deliver new features and improvements to AvaCloud's backend application, which is written in Go.
- They will be responsible for key business deliverables, including ensuring the success of the project through close collaboration with the team manager and providing support for additional services under their purview.
- As a hands-on role, they will also be required to actively participate in the on-call rotation, making their leadership and technical contributions crucial for the team’s overall success
- This role focuses on the implementation and execution of projects while aligning with the infrastructure team’s architectural direction to ensure successful outcomes
- Design and develop auto-scalable and secure infrastructure solutions for our platforms
- Build and automate streamlined CI/CD pipelines, testing, code validation, code approval processes, release management, etc
- Starting with currently supported operating systems, continue to push the releases to support a larger variety of system architectures and operating systems
- Ensure best practices for quality coverage, setting measurable targets for engineering teams prior to build releases
- Build out enterprise-wide monitoring and alerting architecture
- Automate use of cloud technologies through IaC tools such as Terraform
- Work closely with the different protocol development teams to bring their software into the continuous integration pipeline
- Provide strategic guidance on all activities related to infrastructure reliability, scalability and security
- Spearhead efforts and lead a team to increase developer productivity, product quality, and software deployment support across multiple cloud platforms and consumer operating systems

The Avalanche platform has become the first to partner with Amazon Web Services, becoming part of a project to bring blockchain technology to government and enterprises. The company also partnered with digital identity verification provider Blockpass, to collaborate towards furthering the safety, security and capabilities of the ecosystem.
