Role
Who you are
- Extensive experience in at least one of the following programming languages: Kotlin/Java (Spring Boot), Python (Fast API), Node.js (Next.js)
- Experience with AWS and infrastructure as code (preferably Terraform)
- Experience in a technical leadership and people management role
- Solid understanding of scalable system design principles, distributed systems, and cloud technologies
- General understanding of software systems and how they interact with each other (e.g microservice architectures, event driven architectures)
- A passion for automating, improving processes and working together with other developer teams
- Great skills in communication and visualisation of complex systems
- A degree in a relevant field of study (e.g. computer science, engineering, sciences) or work experience in a role that typically requires a university degree
- Full professional proficiency in English and the ability to communicate concisely in an international English-speaking environment
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
What the job involves
- Lead the strategic direction and growth of our Application Framework team within the Core Tribe whose mission is to empower Engineers to build disruptive financial products by doing foundational work providing re-usable components, implementing critical improvement and supporting other teams by identifying technological opportunities, producing knowledge and sharing best practices
- The Application Framework Team focuses on providing and maintaining ready to use, secure, up to date and quality assured application templates/reference implementations, best practices as well as integrations based on the most commonly used frameworks and architecture components in Scalable to make sure our application teams can deliver and maintain their services with least effort
- Scalable Capital was built in the cloud from day one. Our services currently run on various AWS serv
- We embrace a DevOps culture where the development teams manage their CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure for their services themself
- Our Core Tribe teams focus on providing everything necessary to ensure security, reliability, development speed and scalability of our services and storages while being cost efficient
- Build up, empower and manage a team of Full Stack Software Engineers, helping them shape their individual careers and grow a performant, agile, self-organizing team
- Provide technical expertise and share best practices with your team
- Define OKRs with your team which they can deliver on
- Organise, prioritise and achieve business goals with your team and Product
- Be part of the recruitment process to attract your potential new colleagues or team members
- Collaborate with feature teams to identify the bottlenecks in performance, efficiency and scalability
- Lead design and implementation of best practices around performance, efficiency and scalability of our infrastructure
- Lead and drive decision processes for improvements in the field of service and storage improvements by using serverless technologies and optimise our services and respective CICD to optimise scalability, cost and performance

Interest around investing in digital assets is increasing steadily due to innovations in fintech smartphone applications and the popularity of blockchain finance such as cryptocurrency. While stocks and cryptocurrency have a lot to do with this increase in popularity, it has also led to new investors learning about ETFs and index funds, meaning more people are looking for easier ways to invest.
Scalable Capital provides a free smartphone application for the investing and trading of stocks, cryptocurrencies, commission-free ETFs, and index funds, with subscription fees providing commission-free stock trading. The application also features a machine learning-driven robotrading service called Smart Predict to aid in improving users' limit and stop orders.
Whilst several other European investment platforms focus on commission-free trading, Scalable Capital has taken a fresh perspective by focusing on providing commission-free ETF investment. By doing this, the company encourages smart long-term ETF investments over riskier day-trading, tapping into a more mature market than applications focused on stocks. With substantial growth reported in 2025, Scalable Capital is carving out its market share.
