Role
Who you are
- Advanced knowledge of technical SEO, including web architecture, Core Web Vitals optimization, and code analysis (HTML, CSS)
- Proficiency in specialized SEO tools (Google Search Console, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, among others)
- Results-oriented mindset and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- User sensitivity and deep understanding of user experience (UX): Ability to create SEO strategies that not only optimize for search engines but also enhance user experience, improving navigation, accessibility, and visitor satisfaction on the website
- Python is a nice to have
- Native proficiency in either Spanish or Italian, with at least a B2 level in the other language
- Fluent in English (minimum B2 level)
What the job involves
- As a Growth Marketing Specialist, you will play a key role in the international expansion of Papernest's platforms, working closely with our SEO managers
- You will be responsible for the Italian and Spanish markets, identifying opportunities to increase traffic and improve Papernest’s visibility, focusing on the following key areas:
- Analysis and Reporting: Conduct in-depth analyses using advanced tools and generate clear, detailed reports with actionable recommendations
- Technical SEO: Identify and resolve technical issues affecting indexing, website performance, and Core Web Vitals, in collaboration with the development team
- SEO-Driven Content Creation and Optimization: Develop high-impact content tailored for search performance — from persuasive copy to visual assets and code snippets — designed to boost engagement, improve rankings, and drive conversions
- Strategic Growth: Explore and implement new avenues for growth by identifying optimization opportunities, creating online tools, and experimenting with innovative acquisition channels to maximize organic reach
- Process Automation and Workflow Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline and automate current SEO processes, implementing solutions that enhance efficiency, reduce manual tasks, and improve scalability
- Collaboration with Other Departments: Work closely with developers, designers, digital advertising specialists, copywriters, and data analysts to ensure SEO strategies are effectively integrated with other areas of digital marketing and contribute to the overall success of the project

Our take
Papernest helps customers manage their utility bills and subscriptions via its online platform. It predominantly focuses on streamlining the administration involved in moving house, like changing or cancelling water bills and gym registrations, with an additional service that works like a more conventional price comparison site for utilities like internet and gas. It is providing a much-needed service in what's proven to be an interestingly narrow and non-competitive niche.
The company so far has been partnering with real estate agency referrals to bring new customers on board. So the boom in people changing homes over the last few years is likely to have played strongly in Papernest’s favour. It has leveraged a strategic partnership with open banking firm Tink, using the company’s broader European coverage to springboard into more geographies.
Papernest seems something of a rare find: a solution that neatly resolves a large and material problem, that’s proven hugely popular, and yet that hasn’t inspired a flurry of would-be competitors. With the housing market still relatively hot, and mid-term moves inspired by the growing digital-nomad lifestyle still on the rise, Papernest seem to be in a rosy position. If it gets too rosy though, it may have to watch its back.
