What the job involves

We are hiring for a Front-end Developer who understands how to use data to inform design and functionality decisions to create exceptional user experiences for the web and drive desired business outcomes
We are seeking someone who is hands-on, creative, and analytical with the ability to quickly turn ideas into results while collaborating closely with team members and internal stakeholders
Our web stack includes: React, TypeScript, Next.js, Utility-first CSS with Tailwind, Netlify/Vercel, and a headless CMS called Kontent
Meet with content owners and stakeholders to define project requirements and create a plan that demonstrates a solid understanding of goals and objectives
Design, create, and maintain web content to meet company and stakeholder requirements while adhering to brand guidelines
Create and test web pages to ensure that they are working effectively
Assist team with management of staging live site
Craft solutions for layout and styling issues across multiple browsers and mobile devices
Bring best practices in design and user experience and bring innovative ideas for website enhancements
Work with Web and Design teams to develop new concepts and put them into production

Our take

While in-site searching has been available for some time from web search servers such as Google and Bing, its functionality is limited due to it relying on general web scraping techniques which can miss relevant information. By contrast Algolia indexes only the company's site, allowing its search to serve accurate results extremely swiftly, which helps to drive sales conversions aside from making sites far more usable. The efficacy of this solution can be seen from its customer base of over 10,000 companies including the likes of Slack, Zendesk and Lacoste.

To diversify and increase the product range, Algolia have expanded into other real-time APIs such as product recommendations available for eCommerce websites. With the company performing extremely well over the last few years, Algolia have recruited key senior executives to further its growth. As the company continues to scale it seems likely that an IPO is not too distant a prospect.
