Who you are
- 2+ years of professional experience building full-stack web applications
- Proficient in a modern compiled programming language (Java, Go, C#, C++, etc.)
- Willingness to learn JavaScript and/or TypeScript along with modern frontend technologies (React, Redux, etc.); prior experience a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Is collaborative, empathetic, and intellectually honest
What the job involves
- We are responsible for MongoDB Atlas: our database as a service offering and fastest growing product which allows users to deploy fault-tolerant, globally distributed MongoDB clusters in just minutes
- We're seeking a Software Engineer to join the Atlas Core Identity and Access Management (IAM) team
- The IAM team owns authentication and authorization for all of MongoDB Atlas, spanning from the underlying platform to user facing features and products
- IAM is both a platform and a product team, serving internal engineers as well as external customers
- We enjoy the challenge of keeping MongoDB Atlas secure while providing a best in class user experience for users ranging from startup to enterprise
- You'll lead medium sized, full-stack projects from technical design to delivery
- Collaborate with colleagues at all stages of project lifecycle (ideation, requirements gathering, design, execution, and delivery)

- In 1 month you’ll have shipped code into production

MongoDB is an open-source, cross-platform, document-oriented database system. It stores data as JSON-like documents and is written in C++, Go, JavaScript and Python.
Essentially, the company develops tools and blueprints to help businesses and organisations modernise their legacy applications, migrating them to the MongoDB database and the MongoDB Atlas cloud database. With this initiative, MongoDB is particularly taking aim at Oracle customers with ageing applications running on the Oracle relational database system.
Since its release, MongoDB has become one of the most popularly used NoSQL database systems due to its ease of use and efficiency. It is also the fastest-growing database ecosystem, and boasts hundreds of millions of downloads. Recently, the company announced a partnership with Patronus AI, an automated evaluation and security platform, through which it will bring automated LLM evaluation and testing capabilities to enterprise customers.
