Who you are
- 8+ years of experience maintaining and enhancing enterprise software is required
- 4+ years of professional experience with PHP, React, Powerhouse (4GL) is required
- 4+ years delivering software using an agile methodology required (Scrum preferred)
- Self starter with good problem solving skills and having ability to learn new technology is required
- Sense of urgency, Customer delight, good collaboration, an eye for details and good problem solving skills will ensure your success in this role
What the job involves
- As a Software Engineer III at OpenGov you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing one of the core products in a fast-paced, agile environment to drive our mission to make the world a little better everyday by powering our key community functions
- A typical day in this role will entail fixing Customer defects, solving complex data issues, monitoring application health, proactively ensuring Customer escalations are minimized and implementing enhancements
- Enhance existing software systems by identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes to improve application stability and maintainability
- Analyze, debug, and resolve software defects and issues in existing applications within set SLAs
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices
- Document changes, updates, and troubleshooting steps to maintain comprehensive project records
- Collaborate with development, QA, SRE and Support teams to drive Customer delight
- Drive continuous improvements to ensure operational excellence (Root cause analysis, improve MTTR etc)
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements to ensure the longevity and relevance of our software products
