What the job involves
- As the Head of People at n8n, you’ll spearhead our mission to create an exceptional people-first culture while scaling the organization for long-term success
- You’ll partner with leadership and the People team to architect a high-performance, values-driven environment that drives employee satisfaction and retention, fosters talent growth, and supports rapid scaling across Europe
- 🤝 Business Partnering: Coach and advise managers on hiring, role scoping, underperformance, dismissals, and organizational design decisions
- 🌟 Talent Development: Own career paths, titles, compensation models, and performance retros; drive learning and development initiatives to empower employees to grow
- 🏆 Performance Optimization: Implement frameworks to recognize star talent, set team goals, and drive high performance across departments
- 🔍 Recruiting Excellence: Lead a team of 3 in talent acquisition, ensuring robust, inclusive hiring processes; support workload prioritization and set hiring teams up for success
- 🌐 People Operations: Support our People Ops team of 1 with onboarding, offboarding, benefits, and office management; create seamless processes that enhance employee engagement
- 🎉 Creating a Positive People Experience: Take a PM-style approach to the employee journey, owning the handbook, surveys, and policies to create a smooth, delightful experience for all
- 📊 Analytics and Infrastructure: Maintain high HRIS data quality, own people metrics, and use insights to inform decisions and refine strategies; drive automation wherever possible
- ⚖️ Compliance Across Jurisdictions: Ensure compliance with labor laws across our 10+ hiring regions, and support data privacy and security programs
- 📣 Internal Communication: Amplify employee voices to leadership, and ensure company-wide updates are clear, accessible, and well-understood by all
- 💡 Revisiting Values and Culture: Regularly review and refresh our company values to keep them relevant and authentic; instill an “n8n-y” personality that resonates throughout the organization
- 📈 Developing Career Frameworks: Build tailored career progression frameworks for departments (e.g., Engineering, Sales) to set clear development paths and strengthen retention
- ⏲️ Tracking & Efficiency Systems: Implement time-tracking where required, and ensure compliance and process efficiency

Our take
A recent trend in IT has been an increased effort to streamline workflows by improving integration between the multiple apps which people use. n8n was founded so that users can find a balance between building systems and having autonomy in their work whilst saving time through the rapid development of complex workflows.
n8n is certainly not the first to pick up on this trend - competition includes startups like Zapier, RapidAPI, and Tray.io- but n8n believes that its product is a cut above the rest of the market, offering more flexibility and robustness at a reduced price. The company also has the leading low-code automation tool in this field.
n8n's long-term approach to the market is set to be based on two key strategies, focusing efforts on its flagship platform, ensuring that it stays ahead of the competition in meeting the demand for its integration services whilst also pushing towards diversification. It plans to launch a version of its platform under a SaaS subscription model. n8n also looks to introduce a network of consulting, support and integration services, and if the company can execute this joint approach well, it will be well-set to continue pushing ahead in the market.
